I absolutely love the beefy noodle flavour but unfortunately it was a bit too subtle for my liking at 1915. For anyone interested in trying it out I would say to go for the thinner cut noodles as the broth flavours didn’t penetrate very deep into the thicker noodles and potentially even go for the dry noodles to make sure you get punchier flavours as the broth seemed to only water down the taste than add to it.A slightly disappointing experience but I’d still be keen to go back in case i happened to just get the milder dishes.
Noodles were amazing, staff was helpful in explaining the different noodle options. The fact that it’s a quality restaurant that is also halal means that I will be returning way more often!
Such are the joys of the modern world that there are always new dishes to discover. And while, I have heard of beef noodle soup, and have tried some variations before, I haven’t ever specifically paid attention to Lanzhou Beef Noodles. There’s even a wikipedia entry! As far as I can tell, the elements (of the most famous variety they serve: I asked for the favourite dish, with the favourite width of noodles) are: clear soup, clean white radish, red chilli oil, green coriander and yellow noodles.
