Boon Table is packed every lunchtime and I was curious to find out why. This shop serves “healthy” food with the fusion of Thai and Vietnamese (banh mi =boon mi, banh bao = boon bao). I grew up with banh mi and banh bao, and seeing how they charge $10 for a baguette and steamed buns seems absurd to me. Like can you just put pâté, protein, and pickles in a bread roll, call it banh mi and charge 2 or 3 times the normal price. Hmm.I ordered the beef bowl with under-roasted pumpkin, a big scoop of avocado sauce, big chunks of salad and some dressing. The salmon with brown rice tasted better than the beef, but honestly they were super average and overpriced. Boon Table gave me an idea to roll up my sleeves and prepare healthy meal preps for the week. But nah, not coming back.

Easy to get to, after the spiral stairs to the food court it is right in front of you. Quick preparation time. Filling & delicious healthy food. Around $15 your brunch/lunch is sorted – highly recommended.
