If you like spicy and numbing then this place is for you. Tasty egg noodles with Sichuan spicy flavours either in soup or dry. They have side dishes and dumplings as well. Make sure you get the won ton and spicy dry noodles. asianfoodninja.com
Finally I can try this noodle shop.Mikirin, serving variety of noodles from the famous 2 sister behind spicy lips, small shop located on entrance of event cinema on George street. What I had, BBQ pulled pork with black pepper broth. And you can choose your noodle, and ramen is on of the options.Noodle was tasty, some skin crackers, is a nice addition for the crunchy element on the dish. Broth is rich and tasty, overall dish was very enjoyable.
Went past this place and was intrigued at the menu. It seemed to contain a variety of different asian cuisines packed into one restaurant. Yes, that does indicate that most likely it is not going to hit the mark but I was really curious and had to try! You look at the menu and tick the items you want on a sheet of paper, similar to other Chinese restaurants. You also get to pick whether you have ramen or rice noodle and whether or not it is soft, medium or hard. We ordered:- beef sate ramen (medium): smelt nice and it was ok, my partner had this one and he was not disappointed but not blown away either. It was an average bowl of noodle soup. The beef bits in it seemed super processed though (like the one you get from an instant noodle bowl).- chicken wings: partner had this one. He said the chicken was ok, the sauce made it taste nicer but definitely wasnt memorable.- fried fish: this was ok as well. Abit in the salty side but i liked the batter they used. Super thin so it wasnt too sickening. Super small portion though (Im comparing to a hole in the wall Chinese place though). Fish was also not fresh.- seafood deluxe ramen noodle (medium): this was super salty to the point where I couldnt really taste what it was meant to taste like! It still tasted pretty nice though – had deep fried calamari legs and soft shell crab on top. I liked how both were cooked. The noodles were also nicely made. – lychee lemonade: yum this was refreshing. Bubbly lemonade with a punch of lychee.- lemon tea: this was a little too sweet for me but still was tasty. Overall, the food was ok and I wasnt too disappointed afterwards. Did it take me through a journey of Asia like its motto? Not really… but it was still ok to eat like I said. I wouldnt call it authentic hearty asian food specific to the cuisine t was trying to achieve but it could pass for asian food. I would probably come back just for convenience sake of being in world sq and to try other dishes. (Seriously, they looked really interesting!). It seems like they do really well at deep fried stuff so if you feel like a greasy asian feed give this place a go. The restaurant was a little pretentious though. Some of the dishes tried too hard and were over the top when it came to garnish (like huge bunches of mint on top of the drinks, huge basil pieces in noodles, too much coriander in noodles etc). This was easily resolved by just taking it all out but I thought the food wouldve tasted so much better if they made each dish a little more simpler.
Awesome noodles and wontons. Had the Mikirin Sea Deluxe paired with Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The broth is flavourful and spicy and was a great combination with the ramen and soft shell crab.
Discovered this restaurant by chance and was not disappointed. The service was unbelievable, the menu was unique and the food was delicious. Had the dry ramen which was so tasty and absolutely loved the flavours. Will definitely be going back for more.
