Don’t usually come here for the food, but it is surprisingly good! We ordered many items, but the standout dishes were the crunchy seared salmon roll, a spicy fried rice (might’ve been the wagyu beef garlic fried rice) and the pork kimchi noodles. Definitely a good idea to stock up on food before/during a big karaoke session that involves lots of whiskey and green tea!
Mizuya Japanese Restaurant and Karaoke is a popular place my friends and I go regularly for Japanese food or Karaoke or both. We really enjoy the food there however the service for karaoke is becoming appalling. They would give us a dirty room and tell us there were no other rooms available but we found out there the were many vacant rooms. We no longer go there for karaoke. But the food is still good so still giving it three stars.
Mizuya has, and will always be, a classic Japanese hot spot on George Street. You sit in a booth amongst a maze of booths underground and order your food from touch screens. In particular I absolutely LOVE their lunch combos where you can get a chirashi sushi & karaage chicken set for only $9.90! Their green tea soft serves always hit the spot too, with generous servings for $3.80 (YUM).
