Mr Wongs is a hip looking restaurant….that is hard to get into for a reason. They dont take reservations unless you are a party of 6 or more. We showed up at 6:30 and were lucky to get in. The restaurant is a good size and the place is packed……because the food is absolutely phenomenal! Every single dish we ordered was so fresh and perfectly seasoned. I have to say its the best Chinese food I have ever had. I wish they would open a restaurant here in the US!
Nice little gem hidden in an secret alley in the CBD. Supposedly one of the best Chinese restaurants in Sydney. Nice place. Service excellent. They have two floors which makes getting seated very easy even though you might have to line up for dinner as no dinner reservations are taken.
They definitely have their own take on traditional Chinese food but its only their take on it meaning not necessarily an improvement. Sometimes traditional Chinese food has more flavour because they dont care too much about making it fancy and neat.
But the food is surely pricy though.
Honestly, their take on Chinese food isnt my cup of tea. I would rather the traditional greasy oily Chinese food that packs a punch of flavour than this fancy over priced food. Reason why I gave it 4 stars cause it does deserve it but i rather the traditional style of cooking than a fusion.
