Located in an alleyway away from the streets, this place immediately takes you on a pretty authentic Korean experience. Satisfying comfort food on a late night to avoid next day hangovers
Rating: 3.5
Vibe was very authentic, and service was a click away with the built in buzzer. We ordered the kimchi pancake and it was humongous, however was rather pricey, but that was generally the entire menu. Meats we ordered pork belly which had a nice char and fattiness to it. The marinated bulgogi and marinated pork ribs were amazing tho, with the bang on flavours. We were unsure of what sauce to use and couldnt seem to match the sauces with what was infront of us. We didnt have a sauce to compliment the kimchi pancake also. I also got to try the spicy cold wheat noodles which were pretty good and unique. A good place to bond with family!

Ordered a yummy shabu shabu that was very filling. Love the variety of meats, veggies and sides that were given to us. It felt like a very complete meal and service was done in a series rather than all at once which we greatly appreciated. Sat in a quieter corner and was impressed by how big the place is, snakes up a few staircases. Appearance wise the restaurant does look a bit seedy/shabby, especially as you have to go down an alleyway to get to the restaurant front but the quality of the food we received changed my doubts.
Came here last night after reading amazing reviews about this place. Being a foodie from Melbourne, I had high expectations. I ordered the dolsot bibimbap with pork and the seafood pancake. Firstly, the pancake was to die for! So crispy and light, packed full of flavour. (I took it back to my hotel for my morning snack). My bibimbap was lacking flavour a bit, despite the chilli sauce provided. I felt like the strips of pork didnt quite cut it. I wouldve preferred beautiful char grilled pork. I would definitely return to try other dishes, but if I were you, I would skip the pork version of this dish and ty another.
When it comes to Korean BBQ, Sydney Madang is classic. They dont take reservations and the queue is usually quite long. But you know youre getting good quality Korean BBQ and delicious side dishes.
Our first kbbq experience in Sydney after hearing so many good reviews and queues outside almost every joint! We went to Madang because our first choices (678 and JBG) were booked out and lines were super long. We waited 30 minutes for a seat at here as well. It seems to me that almost every joint in the CBD will have a queue so be prepared.
Food: we ordered pork belly, marinated galbi and brisket for our meats which to my surprise isnt in a set and will be very costly if you order a lot of meats. Quality of meat was very good but the galbi was predominantly bone and the servings were quite small. We also ordered kimchi pancake, japchae and cold noodles. The japchae didnt taste very authentic because it tasted more like hokkien noodles than japchae…not the best. The kimchi pancake was standard but the cold noodles were incredible. Such a refreshing dish and full of flavours. If you dont get a soup maybe get cold noodles to reset your taste buds for new bites.
Service: although the wait was a bit long the staff were accommodating and friendly. Very understanding and quick once youre inside!
