Went here for what I thought was going to be a quick, easy lunch. We ordered the set menu, which I think was around $20pp and included a glass of wine. We waited for what felt like an eternity and then a plate of edamame arrived… We waited even longer and the rest of our food arrived… I don’t think I’ll be back for the food in a hurry, but it’s a great little bar for a few drinks. threespoonsfullblog.wordpress.com
My friend and I walked in this dumplings bar for lunch. A guy welcomed us nicely and leaded us to basement floor. A lady placed order for us. The options in the menu are limited, and we ordered two mixed dumplings plates. HOWEVER, we’ve been waiting for 40 mins and the customers that came after us have already got food!!!! I asked another staff how long it will take for our order? He checked and came back said 2 mins. We decided to wait for another 2 mins and the lady who placed the order for us just grabbed the food for the customers who came after us!!! We decided to leave because we just have 1 hour lunch break now only 20 mins left . My friend went to counter and told the lady who placed order for us that we were leaving because we can’t wait and it’s unfair that the customers that came after us have been served. THE MOST RIDICULOUS thing is the lady did NOT feel sorry for their FAIL SERVICE and she even argued with us!!!! I feel so disappointed for the rude service and definitely WILL NOT go back for another try.I give 1 point rating for their table water!!!NOT RECOMMENDING!!!!!!
Stopped by for a couple of drinks and some dumplings one lunch time and luckily the fox hole took reservations for our large group of 10. We got some plates of mixed dumplings, edamame and pork rolls and happily chatted away. Service was a little slow and when we asked for plates to eat off we were given about 4 for the whole table. There similarly wasn’t anywhere to put the soy sauce and the edamame shells so it made for a messy lunch,. The staff started clearing the few plates and chopsticks we had away while we were still waiting for another order of dumplings even after being advised. Overall, pretty below average, dumplings were okay but quite thick and gluey and service was just a let down. eatventures.net
The perfect CBD lunch spot! Fox hole small bar is located on erskine street and serves dumplings and pork buns in a relaxed and bright setting. We went for the two person banquet which for $25 each gets you edamame, pork buns, mixed dumplings (7 each!) and a drink. They happened to be out of edamame and instead offered us an extra glass of wine – what a great deal! The only reason Fox Hole is not getting a 5 is that the food was a little slow to come out. However I highly recommend this place and on Tuesday’s they serve up $1 dumplings.
I’ve been coming here since I arrived in Sydney 3 months ago. The staff have been unfailingly friendly, attentive and funny. As a snobby Wellingtonian, I’m picky about my coffee – I don’t have anything to worry about here. I’m going to miss this place.
As I walk past this place to work, I’ve ordered their avocado & toast plus coffee deal a few times. Each time I was utterly disappointed by the rudeness of one of the ladies behind the counter. First time I was there, she continued to chat to a previous customer when she saw me come in and never took my order until I had to I interrupt them. She then muttered snide comments. Even the barrister felt sorry for me and made my coffee straight away after. Next time I went in with some colleagues, she again took their orders (told them they can’t split bills) then never took my order. My colleagues and I decided that we’d never visit again. I’ve also been here for lunch and the dumplings are okay. However there’s better dumplings for better value in the city. Nevertheless I probably would still visit the venue again if not for the rude lady behind the counter. All the other waitresses / employees are fine. But it’s unfortunately that one person could ruined the entire venue for myself and my colleagues.
Cute little bar with a great mix of all my favourite things – dumplings, cheese & wine. I recommend ordering a cheese platter, a small plate of prawn and pork dumplings. Bring back the artichokes and skip the green olives on the platter. This is an old faithful – perfect for midweek lunches.
