Delicious food and friendly service! The caramelised pork melts in your mouth and the chef’s specialty fish bowl is lit of fire and has a big kick in flavour. The coconut ice cream is a dream!
I had heard great feedback about Hanoi from others so had high expectations when I finally went there. Unfortunately my experience was extremely underwhelming. Our entree was nice but our wine wasn’t delivered until after our mains arrived and we had to ask a second time for it. When we did so the lady was rude to us and we still waited another 5 to 10 minutes for it to arrive. We ordered a pork and a chicken dish as our mains. Our meals didnt come out at the same time (we waited a good 10 minutes for our other dish and our rice). The pork was dry and both dishes lacked any real flavour. We honestly didn’t even want to finish the meals they were so tasteless and dry. We certainly won’t be going back.
As a local I have frequented this restaurant and its sister restaurant Kai a number of times and find the food exceptional and a credit to the kitchen staff. Unfortunately the service I received tonight was appalling and I will not be heading back, which is a shame because their lunar calendar beef is amazing. Whilst we had booked a table, the waitress made us feel like we were in the way all night, stopping midway through taking our order to serve a larger group, then forgot our drinks, ignored our request for our drinks but took multiple drink orders from the table beside us and brought their and other drinks out over the next 25 minutes. Well and truly after we finished dinner, our drinks arrived, I asked the waitress to pay but was told I’d have to sit down and wait – yes that’s right after an evening of terrible service I had to wait 7minutes for the bill, which I tried to pay immediately but the waitress walked off on me to serve someone else. My best advice stay away during the tourist season, they are clearly not interested in your business.
Great food, fresh, well prepared & presented. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful with advice re the menu. Will not hesitate to dine here again. 🙂
If you want the slowest and worst ever service pop down to Hanoi on manning. Food is as authentic as a Louis Vuitton handbag at paddys markets
Great food. Have been to Vietnam and its the real deal. Best spring rolls I have had in oz.
Awesome Authentic Viet Food!. We were greeted at the door with ‘Come in! For the best food in town!’ and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is very nicely outfitted in a simple Asian/modern style, and the menu is uncomplicated with both Vietnamese names for the dishes as well as English descriptions. The food was delicious and authentically Vietnamese, with no compromise on quality or flavour, and brought back memories of our recent trip to Vietnam. The only difference we noticed was the portion size – here the generous servings were obviously tailored to western palates 😛
