Was served by a lovely young lady who patiently answered my questions re the dishes. Ended up buying their folded roti/murtabak 3.5/5, kampoeng fried rice 3/5, 2 tikka chicken legs 3/5, a couple of veg vada (indian doughnuts), beetroot salad. The folded roti/murtabak here is less spicy than amma’s which suited our monsters well. On my 1st acquaintance w mathura, i saw a few different dishes than that offered by amma’s. Note that the kampoeng fried rice has no meat other than anchovies. Which do i prefer, amma’s or mathura? I’d say amma’s. That said, might return here to try the dishes not sold at amma’s.

The place from facr reminds me of the days when I was in Malaysia … where they believe ‘ what you can show you can sell’ but the place is absolutely brilliant …. I have tried almost half the stuff there ..like been there atleast once a month … nasi goreng, roti … tandoori ..usually is a bit tough… and best part is the pulled tea .. you god damn absolutely have to try it.

It doesn’t look like much but there is plenty of options here. I get my usually stuff but I don’t know the names of them despite eating them plenty of times My fried donut is bigger than other places but tasted better than other places The fried ball which they said was sweet had a hint of sweetness to it but I still liked it Fish roti was tasty My giant sized tandoori chicken which was $5 which I can’t believe is a quarter of a chicken wasn’t as good as I hoped! A lot of sauce but not the taste I was expecting! Still I got a lot for under $10 so it’s good value! Worth trying

This shop has been my quick fix ever since i moved to the neighbourhood. My favourite is palak paneer. (They use real cheese, unlike other places they sometimes opt out the cheese) Their massala dosa is pretty good too.

Been to Mathura restaurant many times for take away and dine-in.#Location- Located very close to Toongabbie station. Ample parking space available nearby.#Ambience- Basic, This is take away shop with 5-6 tables for dine-in.#Service – Excellent, Staff is friendly. You will get your food in under 5 minutes.#Food – Spicy, good choice of curries (veg and N-veg). Taste of food is also much better as compared to other eateries in the competition. Portions are good as well.#Recommendation- All dishes are well prepared. Chicken Biryani, Lamb curry+Rice with Roti are worth trying if you visit this place. For vegetarian friends, Dosa, Rice(or roti)+4 curry option is excellent.#Overall Experience- This is pocket friendly restaurent. Dont expect nice ambience though the place is clean. ~$20 for 2 people is excellent value for your money. Worth trying if you want to stop for a quick meal or take away.

Really good dosa. Exactly how I like it. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Sourness was just right. The staff is very nice too.must try.

Yum! Yum! Yum!Don’t get discouraged with the look of the place. Just get inside and try the heavenly goodness of their food. Mathura serves Indian, Sri Lankan and Malaysian dishes so there are plenty to choose from. We had non-vegetarian thali on our visit which comes with 1 choice of meat curry, 3 choices of vegetable curries and rice or roti. We loved it! I like how thalis allow you to sample several dishes without having to order each dish separately. Try their teh tarik as well. Perfect ending to your meal.
