I had the fisherman splatter which was very big but not very nice I believe the oysters were Frozen and it would not surprise me if the prawns were also frozen probably won’t come here again for dinner but you never know what’s around the corner .
Flame is located at the Twin Towns entertainment hub on the Tweed /Coolangatta Qld NSW border. Twinnies is a haven for golden oldies and the blue rinse set. Bless their big undies its great to watch the oldies rock n boogie on the dance floor – good on em. It’s even more amusing when dentures get stuck in a tough steak while eating at this place. Flames is a bit of a complex within itself – It’s a Bistro, Bar, Carvery, Pizzeria, deli, coffee and cake Cafe offering a ton of classic food and drink options. Despite prices going up Pensioner types still come out in droves and love this place. Gamblers rejoice – The Swine hears that pokies dollar discount vouchers for Flame are also very popular. Translation – freebie meals to encourage one to gamble. So.yes, Pokies and Live entertainment are indeed very close by. Onto food – The Swine had a Laksa. While it wasn’t amazing, it passed. The Swine also thought the Steak was quite good, but could have been bigger. All up, an interesting RSL club experience – the Swine is told, one of the best in Australia. Not really the Swine’s scene but there’s a lot worse out there.
High prices for average food. Took my grandparents because this is where the oldies seem to go, but we were all disappointed. Paid $18 for a lamb roast, which was just ok. Big serving, but the roast potatoes were bland and soggy. Could have gone two minutes down the road to the Bowls Club and paid $7.50 for the same thing. Everything was really pricey ($20 for an average sized pizza), and the quality was just ok. I had low expectations for club food, and this place fell below them. The decor was pretty fancy, but only as fancy as you can get with tvs and poker machines blaring.
