Terrible service has put us off ever returning. The food is ok but the waitresses are rude and obviously would rather not be there. Drink service is horrible and soft drinks are just out of 2ltr bottles and flat.
The restaurant was good food was delicious but a bit on the expensive side. Drinks however were cheap. There was 3 of us we ordered Mongolian Lamb, Lemon Chicken & Beef and cashew but. Drinks were a coke, lemonade and a wine for $78.30
Thats no way to say good-bye. For what it was, this restaurant was not too bad. It has been operating for 40 years and has been a family favourite. The food remains OK but the service has deteriorated to a point were I will not eat-in again. The last, and finally, eat-in experience, seated and left for a long time, drinks finally ordered and more waiting, ordered our meals, one course turn up between seven of us, no rice. every other table was served and feed, we asked for rice and for the remainder of our order, finally more courses, still no rice. after finishing, the (so called) waitress noted that although we asked many times for rice we still did not get our rice, No more will we dine here.
There is a secret to ordering traditional Chinese fare outside urbane areas and thankfully the waitress at this restaurant let me in on it, wait for it- there is a seperate menu for Chinese and Aussies. 2 of the dishes we ordered were Ma Po Tofu (not on the menu) which could be ordered as Pork or a vegetarian dish, it was delicious & San Choy Bow which was very average, the iceberg lettuce was presented less than delicately as was the duck which was not crispy or sliced thinly enough, the sauce was a bit bland as was the lettuce tasteless. The waitresses looked like old hacks & the high chair was grubby but the kitsch decor was priceless.
