The prawns, the prawns, the prawns! May they never take them off the pool/bar menu! They are something to write home about! The cocktails are just as delicious, and the accommodation and decor are all you can ask for from a quick getaway! Worth the hype! Can’t wait to go back!

The worst part about visiting Paper Daisy is realising that you should have booked the accommodation too, set in the boutique hotel known as Halcyon House. With its pearly white-finish weatherboard facade, luxuriantly-appointed rooms, and broad design brushstrokes of a dwelling on a Greek Island, the hotel restaurant is of rare breed: the kind that manages to fuse high-end trappings with all the relaxed vibe of beach side, alfresco dining, all the while compromising nothing on the plate.

Absolutely a beautiful place to have a relaxing lunch on your holiday, the lunch menu we had was amazing, great cocktails, the view was wonderful, friendly service. We really enjoyed the experience here.

I’m super lucky because I’ve been fortunate enough to stay at Halcyon House for an extra long weekend. We had some amazing breakfasts each morning at Paper Daisy, the food was so delicious. There was a great choice on offer that caters for everyone. I loved the pancakes and the soft eggs with grains as well as their muesli. Our experience at dinner however, while not bad wasn’t as impressive as all the talk around town. I found some of the flavour combinations a bit odd and almost like they were trying to be different just because they could. I also encountered a fish scale in my main course of fish which is my pet hate. The set menu for dinner is pricey and portion sizes were OK. Cocktails were delicious. My husband’s choice for entree and main was on the bistro menu and I feel if you’re there to enjoy a finer dining experience then it should be a different menu option for each. I think next time I’d go the bistro menu to fix my food cravings. Just enjoy the gorgeous surrounds if you’re lucky enough to dine there on a sunny afternoon or warm night.
