An absolute top spot looking out over the gorgeous beach, and the perfect location to watch the sunset with a drink in hand. The place itself is like a converted beach house, with a laidback coastal vibe. There’s a huge balcony which is the ideal spot to perch yourself with a beer or cocktail. The drinks are pretty good and there’s a huge range. However the food is pretty average to be honest, so you’re really coming here for the location and vibes. We got the nachos and the cheese pizza, both of which were pretty bland. So the score here is purely based on location and drinks. Definitely worth checking out if you’re on the coast and feeling thirsty!
I was hesitant to go here after reading the reviews but it definitely surpassed my expectations. I went late on a Tuesday night during the holiday period after Christmas with two friends and whilst it did take us a while to be served and for our food to arrive (even thoughthe restaurantwas empty apart from two other groups) it wasn’t a bad thing as we just sat and enjoyed some drinks. The pizzas were great and the inside of the restaurant was pleasant and I would definitely go back and give it another go.
Absolutely Awful. Horrible Service.Booked a table of 8 for my husbands birthday via there website reservation system 4 weeks ago. I didnt hear back after two weeks so I emailed them to confirm. I received confirmation. The week before I rang up and booked a highchair to accompany the table booking. I received verbal confirmation. Yesterday on arriving for the party a highchair wasnt available and they put us on a bench table with stools (which wouldnt have been ideal with a highchair). While I went to change my daughters nappy (also no change table facilities) the waitress spoke to my husband, who had no idea of the arrangements and instead of trying to accommodate us the staff felt it necessary to point out that the email only contained the details of the booking and nothing about a highchair, the email mind you that I had to send because I never received confirmation..Instead of trying to accommodate their customers they were happy for us to just leave. Prior to this I had my birthday lunch there and they completely forgot my meal. I was happy to forgive and forget in that instance but the horrible service twice in a row just sealed the deal for me. There are better place to go on the coast.
Great view, bad service and terrible food.. Can I just start by pointing out this place used to be amazing- great food to match a great setup, view and service. It used to be a weekly thing for my partner and I. Street fare menu and $12 weekly meals, the best. Since the renovations and menu ‘change’ however, the service is bland as well as the food. In fact wait staff seems to be quite the high turnover with same level of below average service (lack of customer service, barely a smile). The food, still listed the same on the menu, has changed for the worse. The sauce on amber chicken, completely different – lost it’s good flavors. The ‘chargrilled’ corn with chipolte sauce, is more so boiled corn with watered down sauce and homebrand looking unmelted cheese. The same goes with Argentine steak, different taste in the sauce and half of 350g was at least FATTY bits. I could swear they’ve even changed their meat produce (using budget cuts) and definitely the chefs and flavors of all sauces especially. So for a basket of chips, corn on the cob, a plate of chicken and steak all very disappointing and overpriced, the even more dissatisfying part was, despite this being a week night dine with no more than 3-4 other tables dining, all eating their meals, our corn and chips arrived 40 minutes after ordering. 10 minutes with no sign of the rest of the meal(chicken and steak) to follow I asked for it, only to receive as mentioned above, bland food and further service with no blink of an apology or acknowledgement of poor, delayed meals. This was not the first visit since the renovations but definitely a good clarification not to go back as again it was sadly a meal out gone wrong experience. It does appear however that the owner is still the same so I can only hope he brings back what once was….a fantastic water front experience …instead of what has now become a pretty boutique looking beach restaurant trying to compensate and hide the reality of sticky tables, overpriced food that’s lost all its unique flavors and takes ample time to be prepared and then served by a bunch of unenthused staff with petty customer experience.
Great food, really rude staff. Whoever is managing this place should consider having some chit chats with their employees… It says they close at 12am and the waitress basically told us that they were waiting for us to leave so they could go home… At 9pm! Really unwelcoming vibes… Not cool. Not overly impressed tbh
What a joke. Ugh, that place is a dive, I had my birthday there. Horrible service, rude staff, food that didn’t arrive until after everyone else finished. The only saving grace was that they forgot to put about $100 worth of food on our tab. When we wanted to move outside to the empty deck (inside was like a sauna with terribly music pumped up) after dinner we were body-blocked by the waitress who said that people move outside to do the ‘runner’. Um ok. After that they didn’t offer us more drinks and refused to let us split the bill. I kept looking around to see if we were in one of those hidden camera shows. It was that bad. I have been there a few time, each more terrible than the last. Never again.
Poor quality of food and poor manners if staff. After two different functions one night after the next the quality of the food the first night was great the wait for some meals over 2hrs but at least the food was good and then to come the next night first over 3/4 of the table wanted nachos then to be told they were sold out then asking for wedges and they were sold out too so we finally ordered our meals the squid which came with chips the first night and then told no it doesn’t the 2nd night $17 for 1cup of bland squid was a bit rough then the fries cold and couldn’t taste the chilli , the pork tostadas cold and over cooked , the crumbed chicken over cooked and dry and the pork tacos which smelt like cat food/tuna and nearly made people vomit .. And had to ask for cash back on a few of these meals . There was no apology from anyone the kitchen staff were overheard complaining g about our rightful complaints and then to have a guy who was clearly friendly with staff earlier sit right near our table and listen in on out conversations all by the while the owner was there and knew of our concerns with the food and did not even offer an apology or come to ask us our concerns so he could better his kitchen very poor effort from all staff – never had such bad service and food ever — the pizza was the only thing that could be praised ..
