We ordered through Uber Eats at 8:10 and food arrived at 8:45. We got butter chicken, paneer butter masala and saffron rice. We enjoyed the food! They put Chicken tikka in the butter chicken, which gave it a little smokey flavour, the sauce was not too heavy and we could taste the tomato in it. We have never had Paneer butter masala but it surprised us (in a good way) – it is also a creamy curry but it goes well with the mild flavour of the cheese. The portions were quite large.Open to try something else and dine in the restaurant next time.

We dined at this restaurant as well as ordered home delivery from this restaurant a couple of years ago and thought it was quite good. This time we went there using Groupon voucher and our experience was really disappointing.1. We called the restaurant to make a booking for a Thursday evening. They told that they would have private function and suggested to come on a Tuesday.2. We called them on Tuesday. They said that we could come but that we would have to be out by 7:30 pm due to a private function. Not the best start but we accepted this.3. We left at 7:40 pm. The restaurant was empty with only one other couple finishing their dinner. Furthermore, by this time they already removed table cloths and cutlery from all other tables. We went to the supermarket and half an hour later we passed by the restaurant. The restaurant was empty. No visitors and no function.4. Food. The portions were very small, much smaller than they used to be 2 years ago and much smaller than in any other Indian restaurant that we have been to. I would say that they are entree size. Furthermore, they increased prices quite a lot. Average price for main course is about $20. For instance, butter chicken main had about 4 or 5 small pieces of chicken with quite a bit of sauce in a small bowl. Given the size, you need to order at least 2 mains per person or even 3 if you are hungry. We ordered rice for 3 people. Once again, the size of the bowl that they served was just about enough for 2 people.Quality of food and taste was good but not much better than your average food court Indian meal.5. Service. The female waiter was polite. However, the man sitting at the counter looked very unhappy and was chatting on his mobile phone almost all the time.6. Payment. As we had a Groupon voucher, most of our bill was covered by this voucher. The waiter told us that we had to pay extra $7. She was quickly corrected by the unhappy man, who said that it wasn’t $7 but $7 and 10 cents (!) that we owed. I gave him $20 note. He slowly counted coins and gave them to me. I put them in my wallet and went towards the door. He didn’t say thank you but just looked to the side. 30 seconds later I realised that he didn’t give give me the $10 note change. I told him about it. He opened cash register and gave it to me. The way he acted showed that he knew that he hadn’t given me correct amount of change. To top it up – not a single word of apology from him and no thank you.Highly disappointing experience!

One of our all time favourites as a family. Authentic food, generous portions – a weekly visit with the family is a must for or gang. Tried most of the dishes and have never been disappointed.

Enjoyable Indian food with no faults and clearly made with love. Everything on the entree share plate was lovely, as were our butter chicken and saag. However, the flavours in the saag were lacking the depth that I love. Still a great restaurant – I’m hard to please with Indian food.

Food was ok but the experience was quite bizarre starting with difficulty finding the place, an uneasy interaction with the waitress (we weren’t sure what we ordered after it all) and ending eating our curries under a disco ball in an empty restaurant. There was one other couple who had at least 50 years each on us eating there and spent the majority of our dinner haggling over the price of the bill. I’d say stick to take out from here.

FOOD TYPEIndianFOOD QUALITYWeve dined here a few times before but last night was our best experience yet. Everything we ordered was fresh, tasty and smothered in those rich, flavoursome Indian herbs and spices that we love so much. Serving sizes were generous. We started with Tandoori Mushrooms ($9) marinated in yoghurt. What a pleasant surprise this was. The mushrooms were huge and juicy and perfectly complemented by the marinade. For mains we chose the non-veg grilled platter for two ($19) which has lamb chops, onion bhaji, chicken tikka and sausages (two pieces of each). Despite it being billed as a platter for two it isnt really big enough to satisfy two hungry mouths and in any event, the price ($19) suggests its a main meal for one person only, which it is, unless you have small appetites something we dont have when we visit Indian restaurants. So we also ordered a lamb korma ($18), plus rice and naan bread as well. Again, everything was delicious and served to the table in stylish copper bowls. The lamb especially was melt-in-your-mouth tender and soft. The mixed platter was an inspired choice anyway giving us a bit of everything and then some. For dessert we just couldnt go past our fav Gulab Jamun ($6) which was deliciously sweet and fragrant: the perfect contrast to the spicy mains.ATMOSPHEREI enjoy the calm, laid back atmosphere here, with the soft lighting and warm colour tones. The place is tastefully decked out with tiled floors, white and black furniture and a large bar counter as you enter. The orange and beige walls give it an elegant oriental atmosphere. It being a Sat night, there was a decent turnout which was pleasing to see. SERVICEAll the staff are simply delightful, especially the young lady with the pigtail who served us. Neatly turned out in matching black outfit, she was efficient, courteous and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her and her mission on this Saturday night was to make sure that we were comfortable and our every need was taken care of. Our booked table was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Orders were quickly taken and the drinks and food came out promptly and in the right order.COMFORTTables are a tad small and we struggled to fit all the dishes and drinks. The smart white leather chairs though are comfortable. Despite it being a chilly eve in mid-winter, the heating arrangements kept the place pleasantly warm and cosy.MENUThe menu is fairly extensive spread over about six or seven pages. But its all clearly laid out and easy to read with separate sections for vegetarian, beef, chicken, lamb etc.TOILETSToilets are adequate and clean but lack hand towels or even a dryer. Only non-absorbent tissues and toilet papers are supplied for hand drying purposes and how are you supposed to dry your hands on those? ACOUSTICSDespite the tiled floors, low ceilings and lack of any noise absorbers, we had no difficulty in conversing. That was probably because our fellow diners were all polite and quietly spoken, rather than due to any miracle of sound engineering.COSTWith our 25% Ent. Book discount voucher (up to a max $25) we paid a reasonable $55 for two of us and that included a Kingfisher beer, a glass of house claret, a starter, two mains, rice, naan bread and a dessert. Cant complain about that.BOOKINGBeing a Sat night, we took the precaution of booking ahead but generally it isn’t necessary and one can always get a table any night of the week.PARKING/ACCESSPlenty of easy, free street parking either side of Old South Head Rd.SUMMARYOur evening here was a success with first class food and service, reasonable prices and a pleasantly relaxed and homely atmosphere. Everything went off smoothly without a hitch. And parking is a breeze, always a plus at any Sydney restaurant. Looking forward to going back.RECOMMENDATIONHard to recommend any one dish as everything we had was hearty and satisfying. The Tandoori Mushrooms though were a winner for us. A perfect way to start your meal.MEMOLook out for shop-a-dockets that offer you a half-priced main meal here.
