The breakfast and lunch food here is always good and there is plenty of parking around the area which is a plus. We did try the dinner once and while the food was okay, the service wasnt great but perhaps it was just an off night.

Visited this place on my way back from Watsons Bay. They have such a wide range of baked goodies and we tried their chocolate & cinnamon scroll. It was quite nice and different. Coffees were pretty good as well but unfortunately they ran out of ice when we visited, so we couldnt get iced coffees. Pretty good atmosphere for a quick coffee/bread.Feel free to follow me on instagram @pignic_ for more foodie adventures. nicozee.wordpress.com

We live right behind the Hungry Baker so drop literally $15-20 every morning on coffees & bread/pastry. But never again. Food & coffee are good but the staff are a shambles. Just ordered 2 coffees & waiting 25 mins. 15 mins in, it was clear that they forgot my order so the rude waitress asked me what I ordered again. Even when it became clear that my order was forgotten, they still served people who came in after me first. The barista works at a pace where he is clearly conserving energy for the holiday festivities. Won’t grace their doorstep ever again

The new Israeli Street Food concept menu takes the nostalgic elements of the old Grumpy Baker we knew and love when we were first introduced to it 14 years ago. The Vaucluse outlet tells a unique food story that is typically pulled apart across Mediterranean speacialty venues in the Sydney dining landscape. Baking, pickling, slow cooking meats and vegetables over a charcoal woodfire oven, the Vaucluse store differentiates itself from its sister outletd by focusing on an untapped cuisine not fully utilised by restauranteurs of our city. The picks for me were the Eye Fillet filled pita with Chimchurri, beautiful cooked meet absorbing the smokiness of the grand oven that features in the centre of the space. For dessert I had the watermelon feta which is a wonderful contrast of saltiness and sweet – the ideal ‘go to’ this summer which is refreshing and light. Their daily specialis alternate so keep an eye on the board, when i was there I tried a lamb ‘kofta-like’ mince kebab that was wrapped and cooked on a cinnamon stick. Wonderful release of sweetness into the smokey meat. There was also freshly made mint lemondate which was the perfect thirst quencher. The service is friendly, courteous and swift. thenextrushmagazine.com

They hosted an evening to celebrate their concept of ‘My Little Israel’. It extends their concept of a bakery with Middle Eastern influences to something more substantial to eat. There was lots of offerings on hand and let you sample a bit of everything off their new menu.It ranges from light bites including House Pickles/Olives, Flat Pitas, and Mixed Dip Plate to more substantial items like Eye Fillet Steak With Chimichurri, Chicken Livers With Tahini, and Marinated Chicken With Tahini (Served In Pita Bread). It spans the middle eastern flavours and it was all tasty. It would be ideal for grazing amongst friends and family. It has a laid back vibe.

Best coffee & croissants in Vaucluse!I get my morning coffee from here every day and sometimes sneak in one of their fresh pastries too… Beautiful pastries are constantly coming out of the oven behind the counter, especially the croissants, are hard to resist! Great bread, breakfast plates and shakshuka too. Agree that staff turnover is high but coffee & food is luckily consistent!

Nice but bland coffee. Like most things in Sydney it looks fantastic but just misses the mark on depth, while still being overpriced. Food was so-so and staff flat, but it was late in the day. However judging by other reviews it appears the staff culture here isn’t great. Shame.
