We stayed at The Manor and we’re looking for somewhere to eat. Wagga Wagga seems to have a lot of casual dining, we were put off by some of the previous reviews, but thought we’d give it a try and support local business. Thyme Out is more on the fine dining side rather than casual dining. All mains were $40 and there was a selection of about six choices. I had beef cheeks in red wine jus on polenta. My partner had New York style rib eye on honey mustard potatoes. Prior to our mains, we were offered complimentary basil and pork dumplings. All meals came with homemade bread rolls. In between the main and dessert we were offered a complimentary palate cleansing scoop of gelato. For dessert we shared a passion fruit soufflé with lemon gelato, which was beautifully presented and tasted great. The service was fine, meals were brought out promptly and the surroundings were in the style of the rest of The Manor. Only downside, the small dining room; had glass sliding doors to make it a larger space for functions/weddings; was a bit noisy due to the floorboards. Perhaps a rug on the floor would help absorb the noise. The blinds on the front window were shut, meaning passing traffic can’t see in. Not sure how good this is for business or perhaps they were closed as it was winter. Otherwise, the surrounds included an open fire, pressed tin ceiling, old style radio on the mantelpiece playing jazz tunes. If you’re staying at The Manor I’d highly recommend Thyme Out for dinner.

Our experience at Thyme Out at the Manor. Whilst we walked into a beautiful building with amazing decor, the 3 of us were seated at an extremely large table, where we dined far apart having to speak rather loudly to each other to be heard not only because of distance, but to speak over a party of 6 people at a larger table on the verge of yelling, also to be heard. It took approximately an hour for our food to be served, to find the presentation lacking especially for the price we paid. Also the staff, even though they were polite, they seemed rather inexperienced, lacking enthusiasm, and their presentation was that of waiter staff of a large local club. Overall our experienceat Thyme Out at the Manor – for the price dining and the overall impression was way below expectations. We give this place a score of 3 out of 10.
