Beautiful well-thought out dishes – all with native ingredients! Stunning decor and vibes tucked away a little from Danks st. Top dishes were definitely the roasted cauliflower and parsnip salad. A must visit for Sydney vegans!

Overall we had a great time at Paperbark with very few critiques to share. Delicious vegan food in an ambient setting. Well-lit with contemporary decor and friendly quick service. There was always a member of staff around if we needed assistance and our glasses of water were never left empty. The food was beautifully presented, unique to other plant-based restaurants in Sydney and well balanced in flavour. We especially enjoyed the potato churros, tostadas and the desserts. There was also a great balance of dishes served cold/room temp and hot dishes, with most of them being hot. Each dish was so unique it made for an enjoyable time waiting to see what the next one would be like.In terms of critiques, we only have a couple. The first would be for the staff to provide more guidance to guests on how many dishes to order and the dish sizes, as our table (as well as the ones on either side of us) ended up ordering bread as we hadnt ordered enough. We will know this for next time. Our last suggestion is to replace the uncomfortable iron chairs, but we already got in touch with Paperbark about this and we were pleased to hear they were already working on replacing them for the same reason. We highly recommend Paperbark for delicious plant-based food and we look forward to returning to try their brunch menu.P.S. Play close attention to their instructions on how to find the restaurant on their website, it’s a tricky place to find.

Top marks to Paperbark for achieving plant-based casual fine dining that not only looks amazing but tastes incredible too. The mushroom skewers! Smoky and tender, topped with zesty jewels of fingerlime. The beetroot carpaccio! Earthy and potent, served with lemon aspen cream and little slivers of red onion. The tostados! Crunchy and fresh and topped with bright morsels of fruit and flowers. Such a pleasure to see Australian native ingredients used to such stunning effect. Great wine list, great service, take your foodie friends here without telling them its vegan and just let them enjoy the food for what it is: utterly delicious.
