The hipster bars march ever southward, so much so that the Redfern Surf Club is actually in Alexandria. Im not complaining, its a good bar. The building was originally a bank, then a series of chicken shops, now just a big attractive room with great big windows. The bar tends towards expensive craft beers and spirits but the happy hours are good and they get people in even on a Sunday. The free popcorn is a great touch – actually prepared well and also smothered in paprika. You might need to load up on the popcorn because the hot dog stand looked pretty bad – it looked like the worst kind of pigeon feather sausages and some poxy chilli to put on them.
