Great bread ( best baguette in Sydney in my opinion and I lived for years in Paris) pastries and coffee and friendly service !! I read some of the other reviews saying that they had poor customer service which I have never received here. I can only say ‘ it takes one to know one’ I am a Redfern resident and I can say that the attitude of some of the people in Redfern is shocking. I have never witnessed such impoliteness, selfishness and self obsession ( Hipsters especially) To clarify this bakery is great and the baker is very nice and friendly.

I don’t care how good the bread is, it’s not worth the bad attitude and crappy customer service. I received abuse from the guy there today just because I asked for a carry bag or extra paper bag. I even offered to pay for the extra bag ! I tried explaining why i needed the bag, i have chronic illness, and have trouble carrying things, but was silenced before i could get it out, he was already walking away, dismissive. He said he wasn’t interested in anything i have to say! I was so taken aback by his rudeness .. i didn’t know how to respond. Heaven forbid that he should one day need understanding or compassion! I said ‘I hope you don’t get sick’. his response: I HOPE YOU DO! who the hell says a thing like that? and to a customer? I was gobsmacked! It’s very sad and upsetting. newsflash: being behind the counter doesn’t make it ok to behave like a bully and humiliate someone. One of the worst people I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with and that’s saying something! He was so devoid of common courtesy, has zero people skills.. let alone ‘heart’ (is it him doing the baking? because he doesn’t seem to have one!) I’ll never go back and i wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
