I loved it! The entire shop is cozy and decorated with traditional clay tea pots and wrapped up tea leaves. We got the set menu where we chose 5 different teas and received a small yum cha basket. The menu was descriptive in taste and smell, the staff were friendly and gave us suggestions to our preferred tasting and explained the benefits of the tea and how to use certain tea cups (very fancy). You do get your money’s worth because you have unlimited refills with the tea pots, great place to catch up with your friends and explore Chinese tea, they have a small friendly dog that roams around the shop and allows customers to pat. I’ve definitely returned with more friends and bought many packets of tea from there 🙂
Cosy teahouse, a lovely place to sit and catch up over a steaming cup of tea and a little Japanese treat. Also a great place to stock up on cute Japanese ceramics, candles, jewellery and tea. Perfect afternoon cafe, open til 6pm 🙂
Poor customer experience. Been looking for quality Chinese tea in Sydney for a while now and decided to try Zensation after reading all the glowing reviews. I was quite disappointed with the whole experience. We weren’t sure what to order and there was no guidance in terms of what teas would best be suited to us and the tea we did try we were told was good for up to 6 infusions but became tasteless after 2. Service was cold and we were treated like 2nd class citizens. There was no offer of water when we sat down, even though all other tables were served water immediately when they sat. The owner and all other staff members seemed to go out of their way to ignore us. Must’ve been because we were the only Asians in the shop – which is funny because the owner and staff are Asian as well and I don’t think they would appreciate being treated the way we were when they go into other establishments.
