A good pub that has been revamped in recent years. Good for an arvo drink, or a bite to eat with friends. It is stylishly decorated and has a good beer garden. Good range of beers and wines and cocktails. There’s a restaurant with fancy food or sit in the bar for a bar menu. I got a bondi burger with pickles, bacon, cheese and beef. It was great. Friends got the fish and chips and steak with fries which they both enjoyed. The reason for the low review is that the man on the bar / running the till is extremely unfriendly and can only be described as a gruff manner. We have experienced this on more than one occasion. Might work on a busy crowd at 1am but not for the early dinner bunch. aroundtheclockfoodie.com

This is a Friday afternoon relax spot. Come on down and grab a beer and a bowl of thick cut crispy chips or the shoestring fries. On these afternoons your purchase will get your some meat tray tickets as well which is always a bonus. Stay for dinner or head on home to prep. for the weekend – you are ensured to start the weekend right by chilling out here for an hour or two after the end of the working week. We are keen to get here for dinner midweek but haven’t managed to do so get. Now that it is staying lighter and warmer for longer – grab your order and head out the back to the beer garden. They also have some pretty good specials on German beer heading into October and Octoberfest Your choice!
We ate in the Dining Room and whilst the food was great the service was substandard. The glassware was filthy. We counted 4 wine glasses dirty with faint lipstick marks which was such a turn off. My family work in fine dining and granted we have high expectations on all aspects of dining out, however, it is not too much to expect your glassware is clean. After pouring a full glass of sparking water to discover that glass was also filthy. I would have rated higher but the cleanliness and disinterested service staff is reason for a 4, which is purely on the food. Our bill we wished to pay almost $500 of it in cash and the remainder of less than $100 by Amex. The waitress stated we would have to pay 3% surcharge for the entire bill which seemed ludicrous. After querying it, no explanation was given as to if that was a mistake however the waiter said not to worry about the surcharge at all, even for the portion we wished to pay on card.
Great local pub in Waverley that was refurbished last summer. Excellent selection of beers and super cosy in winter with a fireplace! Will be back hopefully to try a meal here.
This place is really great! Looks like a pub from the outside but inside there’s a whole restaurant with a great menu. We went with 4 ppl, shared 3 ‘starters’ and that was plenty. The butchers board was amazing, so much stuff on it! The staff were amazing, so on top of everything. Really great experience.
