For years I’ve walked / driven past this restaurant and been really interested in what food they offer but never had the chance to try it until now. It’s a small family run business open 5 days a week / dinner. My first impression of the menu I was pleasantly surprised with rice dishes, phone, stir fries, rice paper rolls etc. I got takeaway at 6:30 with a couple dining in and all but one table already reserved – this place is quite popular. I ordered beef noodle soup and 1 vegetarian rice paper rolls. I regret not buying more vegetarian rice paper rolls because they were delicious. I ate it so fast I forgot to take note of the filling. The issue is perfectly balanced but a little chilli for my liking. The consistency is great or dipping (not too thick or watery) and the large chucks of peanuts add much o my delight some texture. The beef pho is subtle in flavour but well balanced. It comes with the usual herbs of bean sprouts, thai basil, chilli and lemon. Rare beef sliced and brisket but no meatballs. The service was really friendly and quick

Went here for dinner before a work event – it is always busy and very popular. Family run business that’s been in the area for years. It has recently undergone renovations but still in traditional theming. I’ve been many times and the Pho is amazing, very authentic. This time, however, I was with a colleague and her young son so we had child friendly food – fresh friend spring rolls, chicken with cashew nuts and mushrooms (the owner was kind to add vegetables for me for no extra cost), and crispy chicken, moist chicken with a crispy skin, side of oyster sauce and rice. All very tasty, very fresh and quickly served. Probably one of the best restaurants in Waverley. Not too expensive either. aroundtheclockfoodie.com

Although it may appear as a hole in the wall, Uyen is actually quite popular. We got here before the doors open to find that several tables were already reserved for the night. We ordered several dishes to share. They came very very quickly, which was quite impressive. I have to say I was let down by the noodles with seafood and veggies, as the ratio between the ingredients wasn’t very balanced (hardly any noodles or seafood with heaps of vegetables). However, the tofu and vegetables in curry was a standout. The curry sauce was addictive; very rich and thick. I couldn’t stop eating it. It did become a little overwhelming after I ate a bit though, as it is very rich after all and it can become a little bit much. Prices were reasonable for the set up (everyone shares plates) and staff were also attentive to our needs.
