Not a great place to eat or drink. We stopped there with a large group and though our waitress was very polite, the owner Mel was very rude to our party. They messed up our order, and instead of apologising, treated us like we had made a mistake. We waited over 40 minutes for coffees.Definitely won’t be going back.

If you want to be abused by the owner, this is the place to go. Although our young waitress was quite nice and was very apologetic. We were there on a Saturday afternoon for a joyous birthday occasion. We had a large party of 15 or so people. As we were bushwalking a group of 8 arrived first and put our order in, the second group of 7 arrived 15 minutes later and put their order in. To our surprise the second group received their order almost immediately. As we had been waiting for 15 mins or so, I went and questioned the barista (who happened to be the owner) and she said that the first order had too many milk orders so that is why the second order was first (abusively). Although half the of the second order was milk orders. She just did not want to apologise for making a mistake. Very bad customer service. She then said to me that she was more than happy to cancel the first order. Terribble.I will not be going to that place again and if you feel like be treated like a schmuck, feel free to go.

The Conservation Hut has great potential, an incredible view with outdoor seating set amongst Wentworth falls. However the ambience is stale and furniture worn and dated. The wait staff were all very friendly and upbeat, however the service was terrible, I was alone and waited ages to be seated, a lot of dirty tables, and people waiting a long time for food. I ordered a chicken sandwich and a coffee, coffee was okay and came quickly, however the sandwich took around 40 minutes! I was so hungry when it arrived I didn’t care it was dry and over cooked and the fact that the side was corn chips!Definitely better options in Leura. Give this place a miss.

This is a decent convenient cafe with great views. I don’t know if they’re sure about how formal they want to be, with a cafeteria-looking section, a nice area by the fire with views, and a balcony. Some of the staff were nice. I had a good scone plus some drinks for a surprisingly reasonable price. If you start a long hike from Wentworth Falls early, you could arrive here at lunchtime.

I love the National Parks & Wildlife Service. They do an amazing job of managing Australia’s vast national park network, despite their funding being savaged by successive stupid governmentsBut they really should leave catering to people who know what they’re doing. The food at the Conservation Hut ranges from bad to atrocious. Its only saving grace is that it’s close to a number of fabulous bush walks. If you can make the effort to travel elsewhere in the mountains for lunch or coffee, I assure you, it’ll be time well invested

Arriving hungry after a long walk one member of our group ordered coffee and cake with the miniscule flat white arriving 15 minutes before the cake. I ordered a ploughmans for 2 that took 40 minutes to arrive and was so uninspired for the $23 price that I had a mouthfull & sent it back to the kitchen before leaving. It looked and tasted like cheap supermarket ham, cheese, pickled onions and gherkins with some cherry tomatoes, limp salad leaves and stale bread. It’s a shame as it’s a beautiful location and last time I ate here many years ago the food and service was pretty good. Seriously don’t bother now as there are some excellent dining options a short drive from here..

No one home!. As part of our day out together on Wednesday, we checked out different walks, several which led to the Conservation Hut at the end. What A great idea. do a big healthy walk then enjoy a treat. We checked out the web page and they were to be open until 5pm. We turned up at 4pm after a 3 hour walk, worn out and in need of some sustenance. Unfortunately, they were just packing up and we were informed that they close at 4pm – pity they havent updated their website! We weren’t the only ones surprised – at least 10 other people turned up around the same time to get the same surprise. They are clever though, because they don’t answer their phone – I have been trying to reach them for the last 3 days to complain and ask them for the sake of others, to update their website. maybe I could try email – no – they don’t give their email address!Maybe Blue Mountains Tourism would be interested
