I got a cake here before and it was okay but when I went recently and ordered a continental cake it was the worst I have ever had! And we buy these cakes for all the functions we have. Not from here but anyway: the cake was very, very dry! The chocolate custard on the inside tasted very strange. The fake cream on the outside was also dry. Definite waste of 45 bucks. I am giving it 2 coz the slice I bought another time was ok but yep I’m never going back. Also I found the service a bit abrupt.
Have been heading down to la royale for quite some time now and have always been beyond impressed. Service is great, such an incredible selection of pastries and cakes, and I always leave feeling very content 🙂 I personally love their strawberry tarts (so much to the point that one year I had a whole birthday cake strawberry tart). I also love their coffee slushees which are to die for!! They also offer hot food options like sausage rolls and breakfast selections. I love the atmosphere here too especially since they renovated!
Amazing selection of cakes in a convenient location. We have tried everything from the south American style cakes to the ricotta cake to their continental cake. Always delicious quality cakes for a celebration.
I’ve only been here twice & both times were just to get my macaron fix. I love that they’re chewy – yum! Their pastries & cakes are quite nice too.
I’ve gotten take away from here several times. The pastries are amazing and really well priced. They have a huge selection and I love the range of little tarts they have, perfect for parties.
After waiting for at least 5 minutes in line, I get told by the lady that the coffee machine is closed when the lady behind the counter is clearly making coffees for others.If your cafe is open till 2pm with coffees still being served to other customers, I find it discriminatory and unfair to be denied service after hoping to be served a coffee I had been craving all day.A loyal customer no more
I love this place, discovered it when I started a new job in WP. Best coffee I’ve ever had in Sydney & the cakes are to die forI never had problems with the service either. The sort of place that’s worth driving miles to go to
