Pitiful portions for the price they charge. $15.90 for an entree size pasta dish and $4.90 for a small cup size juice – I can’t emphasis enough how stingy the portions were! Food wasn’t particularly great or something to write home about. No wonder they aren’t busy despite being in a good location.

  • Businesses are built on repeat business. Do the ‘new’ owners here (i think they’ve been running this place for a year and a half now) realize this? Since taking over their small chips are now only 1/4 of the size they use to be. A ham cheese and tomato sandwich had only one thin slice of ham on it. The Turkish toast i got this morning was only half buttered so I was eating alot of dry toast after paying $4.5 takeaway!!!! However I cannot fault their excellent cappuccino a small takeaway one cost $3.5. Will never buy food from here again only coffee

Used to frequent here quite a bit years ago. Came for brekky recently and realized they have changed hands. A look at the menu found me smiling as (from memory) they have not changed (much). Got their old school spinach/shroom and ham/cheese omelettes, both came out quite fluffy with the right ratio of ingredients vs eggs, tasty too. Service is quick and friendly by the new (korean?) owners. Might try their korean bulgogi burger (specials) on next visit.

Pretty average coffee considering the above average cost.$4.50 for a large (I thought North Sydney was a ripoff…)Ankle biter central, not a relaxing cafe by any means.

Not kid friendly. Abusive staff. Avoid. This place used to be quite kid friendly but not anymore. My wife just came home in tears after been abused by one of their staff members because she was changing the baby somewhere she shouldn’t according to them. No change tables are provided so if you have baby, be prepared to have to change them outside the caf in the pram. The staff made a huge deal about this and my wife left the caf humiliated. We won’t be going back despite being regulars there for years. shame.

Cannot even get a coffee order correct. The staff look unkempt and are extremely incompetent at doing their job in a professional manner. The food is not even worth the trouble. The chef tries but it still remains bland. The positioning of the cafe is great. New staff new menu desperately needed for improvement. Try chiquitas cafe just around the corner. It is so much better for you stomach and wallet.

Don’t go here. They’re right…it is no ordinary cafe. Ordinary would be a huge improvement. We just went in for coffees, but they couldn’t even get a very easy coffee order right. And when the coffees actually did arrive (at different times) they were tepid and non-descript. Couldn’t tell if mine was a coffee, hot chocolate, mocha or just milk and some sort of flavouring. The staff were also scurrying around, cleaning up as if it were the end of service and all the patrons had left. They were sweeping around the tables, taking out trash and not being quiet about it, yelling to each other as they did so. There were new patrons walking in and they were a few hours from closing yet. Plus, our table was dirty and no one bothered to wipe it down the entire time we were there. Wouldn’t go back, plenty of better cafes in the area.
