Got a two for one shopper docket so decided to give them a try for lunch. The $15 menu said no offers available so we decided to use the restaurant menu but were informed that the offer was only available on a restricted menu ……. of one item – a $34 roast! Saw the serving which was a lunch sized serving ….. so small. Personally, if you pay $34 for a small serving of a simple roast which has been sitting in a warmer all afternoon (and consists of only one meat option – pork on the day we went) AND there is no table service so that you have to order yourself at the counter – you have more money than sense. With the cost split between two it strikes me as still only average. On principle, we left and spent the same amount as we would have without the discount at another lovely establishment in town and left having had a lovely meal with no sour aftertaste of being misled.

Not even worth the 1 star. Food was cold. Overcooked steak plus one that was raw. Salad bar ..what salad bar ..lettace thats it. Entree arrived half way through main meals Management absolutely refused any refund offering desert. No one apologised for the entree or the terrible food. never again.

The name, history, some of the decor, and the slight snootiness, might make this seem like a fancy restaurant, but you order at the counter – expect queues – and buy drinks from the bar. The food is somewhere between pub food and fancy restaurant food in style and price – I had veal that was a good cut but overcooked and someone got two entrees totalling $30 that turned out to be a huge pile of food, including tender and tasty calamari. Staff were mostly friendly but a credit card outage (at the bank’s end) was not handled well – there were people who’d run a tab on their card for two hours being told to pay cash and they had to scream at the staff to get the staff to come up with an alternative. Still must be one of the nicest places around Bowral for an outdoor meal but book in as it’s popular.

Great steak & a good selection of hearty menu options. The service could do with some work; they brought out two wrong meals to our table & didn’t seem to know what they were doing. As I was leaving I saw them do it to another table. Great atmosphere, solid food but service could be better!

Had the roast pork special which was delicious and tender with great crackling. The salad bar is good too. The service is a bit rude and the desserts were very disappointing.

This property is such a nice location to head for a relaxed lunch with an abundance of seating on the outside deck and also plenty more inside. A very relaxed environment to enjoy some good food and drink. The menu hits all the expected places with a great selection of steaks (you can even choose to cook them yourself), pies and fish. The included salad bar was a highlight with potato bake, pasta salad, coleslaw, Cous Cous salad, beetroot plus and array of condiments. Great place for big groups and is child friendly.
