Hordern’s is the restaurant attached to the Milton Park country house. As a house guest I picked this restaurant for my partner’s birthday dinner. In a nutshell it was a lovely experience. The service was excellent. The ambiance was of French Italian country house style. The on the house salmon canape was delightful. And the Soup dujour was cauliflower and leek and was a treat. My lamb Rump was an absolute show stopper. A week on I am still thinking about it. Strongly recommend this dish. My partner said the first piece of his beef fillet was divine and the pieces that followed were not as great. However he loved the dinner. The dessert we had were Orange and the fennel. The picture is of the orange and it was delightful.

My wife and I chose to have our wedding at Milton Park not only because of the beautiful location, the carriage house and the friendly staff – but also the incredible food and wine menu at the orangerie. For Entrees, we selected theantipasti; jamon wrapped asparagus, roastedolives, grilled vegetables and persian feta; as well as thepotato, roasted garlic and pecorino ravioli with burnt butter and black truffle. Both absolutely stunning dishes!!For mains we chose the angus beef fillet, roasted kipfler truffle mustardand olive dressing; as well as the crispy pork belly, roasted fennel and mustard apple puree. In our opinion, this was the best options as none of our guests had ever had pork belly at a wedding (as in most cases people pick chicken and beef). Both we’re incredible. And finally: dessert. AFrench pear tart, vanilla bean ice cream and saltedcaramel sauce; as well as the tiramisu torte with orange and campari sorbet.I don’t know what to say. We we’re amazed. The food really is incredible here and the matching wines were just sensational. If you’re planning a wedding in the Southern highlands and not too sure where, Milton Park will instantly assist you in making a decision. Thanks to Cassie and all the staff for making our day so special.

Superb food. Fantastic service from very friendly and highly efficient staff. First class atmosphere. The perfect location for an elegant night out with someone special. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend it. Make a weekend of it – stay at the hotel, and book the fine dining package. It will be a weekend to remember, as ours was.

Dinner was included with our weekend stay and was focused on French style cuisine. My wife had a crab crepenette and I Had scollops to start which were both perfectly cooked and presented. Main was venison with carrot puree and my wife had duck that was honey spiced with very sour cherries. Both were quality and well prepared and washed down by a great wine from their elegant wine list. Dessert was the only disappointment. The pastry was just not cooked enough and soggy. Wish I had cheese instead. Place was lovely for a romantic dinner.

A wonderful Southern Highlands evening. We booked a luxury weekend stay at Milton Park for our anniversary, which coincided with the day we will be married at Milton Park next year, and a three course meal for two at Hordern’s was included. It was wonderful in every way. There was a large wedding being held at the hotel, but at no time did we feel neglected because of it, if anything there were quite a number of staff considering the restaurant is not a large one and seats an intimate amount of diners. The ravioli was the stand out for me, expertly cooked with the perfect amount of burnt sage butter. I was also particularly happy with the wine list which showcased local vineyards so we got a true Southern Highlands dining experience.Beyond excited for what they will turn out for wedding next year, even if it is 80% percent as good I will be exceedingly happy.

Fairy tale wedding. I recently attended a fairy tale wedding and reception here. Stunning grounds. I never knew such a place existed outside of American movies of Ivy League. The food served at the reception was the best food I’ve had at a wedding since forever. Alternate drop with each option delectable. The barramundi was moist and juicy and the sweet corn puree it was served with delectable. The potato fondant was more like a piece of cardboard but the desserts made up for it, especially the espresso brulee. Heaven! Shame about the ‘hazelnut crostini’ that were actually just almond biscotti wafers.
