I came here just for the green tea croissant ($4.80). After trying it, I wont be going again. Nothing wrong with the croissant; flaky and lots of matcha intense filling but came out cold. The creaminess of the filling and the pastry balances out well. Its just not something I will crave. Cafe was also a fancy version of those Asian bakeries with the sausage buns and the boards and tongs.
Tried the ever so popular matcha croissant that had been popping up all over Instagram. Flaky croissant filled with a matcha custard(?) like filling, dusted with matcha powder on top, which costed $4.80. To be honest, it wasnt to my liking. I like croissants and I like matcha but I found the filling to be overwhelming and took away from enjoying the croissant pastry. The store is located very close to the station and they have an array of other pastries and baked goods that I may try in the future.
Quaint little cafe just on the corner opposite the train station. Great to grab a bite especially the croissants. Extremely fresh bread would recommend!
Luckily there were heaps of matcha croissants when I came here! The croissant part is great, and the custard actually does taste like matcha! There is a lot of custard inside which is good but also it kind of exploded in the paper bag when I bit into it.. but yeah good to try at least once!
Matcha croissant – Super flaky, crunchy and when you rip it open, you can see the generous smooth matcha custard filling in the middle! Reminds me of the filling in puffs, each bite was filled with crunchiness and custard – omg how am I going to go back to paste-like croissant fillings after this? Would be more awesome if it had a stronger matcha custard taste though 🙂
Like many have described, this cafe has layout similar to beadtop where you can self serve the breads and pastries you’d like. You can also order coffee from the counter. Most will grab to go, but there is seating available to sit and enjoy your selection.I visited to try their popular matcha croissant. The croissant pastry is so so good. Many many layers and very crisp. The matcha custard is bitter but flavor is true and authentic. You will not like this if you are expecting something sweet. Size of croissant is big and very filling, good for sharing.
