A great little stop-over with stunning views over Bulli Tops towards Wollongong. The coffee is average but the view more than makes up for it. There’s also a range of baked goods and treats to enjoy, plus of course, gelato.
I have passed by this Emporium perhaps for more than a hundred times, but it was always after sunset and it had closed for the day.So it was a lucky day when a mate and I dropped by after lunch hour. We had heard much about this, with the gelato possibly echoing the greats in Messina, Cow & the Moon, etc. It was a sunny blue sky day with a bit of a nippy wind on top of this look out point. Ample parking outside the complex, children running around and just perfect for a quick drop by.We eyed two flavours – my Macadamia Crunch and the Ginger and Caramelised Fig. Always a good test with almond flavoured gelato but some how I did not see this. The MC was not overly sweet, had the texture I like (neither too hard not soft) and provided the right bite with macadamia bits. The GCF uplifted , offering the best of an Asian and a Mediterranean fusion. We sat outside under the sun and appreciated the Segafredo, not over the top bold but strong enough. A well known Euro coffee blend that has spread all over the world.
You never know there’s a place you can enjoy a nice view while eating nice Italian ice-cream on the way to Wollongong. I will come back again to try different flavours.
