So many Thai restaurants in Wollongong .. Coconut Thai was chosen because of the ambient decor.. Chef’s seafood special with lime and coriander was well spiced but a little heavy on the oil! 2nd main was Chilli basil tofu .. A somewhat sad dish!! Service was attentive and prompt!
Thai authetic and tasty. We really liked the dishes we had. The Tom Yum Goong soup was one of the best I had in Australia. This thai restaurant isn’t the cheapest in Wollongong, but I was happy to pay the price for fresh ingredients and generous portion.
Food is mediocre and prices rather steep for its quality. I have been to Thailand many times and the food in the restaurant is rather disappointing, there is not enough flavour and spice. However I must say the service is excellent and it has a rather cosy ambience.
We liked the food, very tasty, but it wasn’t overly cheap. One duck, one chicken dish and boiled rice $42
John and his lovely staff provide an excellent dining experience at Coconut Thai. Fantastic food at great prices. A slight wait for mains, but a great atmosphere where you can still have a conversation even when the place is full. $60 will have two people hardly able to move with food left over!
