Disappointing. My husband and I recently had dinner at GiGi’s. Unfortunately, we were both disappointed with our meals. We started off with the Tomato Garlic prawns which we shared and both enjoyed. They were tasty and served with crispy bread. After this, I had the Pork Belly with bean puree and green beans, my husband had the grilled rib eye steak with vegetables. The pork belly, which I tried first, as I was eager to try it, was well cooked and moist. I tried the green beans, and the first one was barely warm – warmed more by the pork than anything else. The remainder were cold. The bean puree was cold. Now I don’t mean room temperature cold, I’m talking cold, like out of the refrigerator. The plate was also cold. As the vegetables were uniformly cold, I foolishly thought maybe the food was ‘meant’ to be this way.My husband’s steak, which you would think would have been hot off the grill, was only just warm, as too were the vegetables. He brought this too the attention of the waitperson, who my husband asked to get it zapped in the microwave for a few minutes. She did offer to have the meal re-cooked, but he decided to try this, rather than waiting. The food was re-plated and microwaved, but alas, he still couldn’t eat it, as not warm enough. So, we gave it up as a loss. Over $80 for an unsatisfactory meal :(As locals, we will not be going back to this restaurant in the future.
Horrible food! The risotto was so salty it was unedible. We also ordered the pasta of the day which was suppose to contain prawns… The meal came out and there were no prawns! The pasta was very dry also. I wouldn’t return however the waitress was lovely and understanding:) she even tried the risotto out the back and agrees it was salty.
Finally served, food was really good18 Dec, 2013I would review the food, but after wasting my lunch break waiting to have my order taken and leaving without any food I cannot.
Fabulous meal with attentive but not intrusive service. We will return ( sounds like Gen MacArthur )
AMAZING FOOD!!. Best Italian restaurant in Wollongong! Absolutely love the food, authentic meals at affordable prices. Early bird menu’s and great weekly lunch specials are newest offers that cannot be refused!!! Great staff and atmosphere- been to Gigi’s for quiet dinners, birthdays and even a wedding- cannot recommend the restaurant high enough! Centrally located all round great place to eat and enjoy Wollongong!
Amazing food. Had the best ever lamb shanks and arancini. I will definitely be back for more. oh forgot to mention my wife said the ravioli were to die for. It’s fantastic to finally have a restaurant in Wollongong that has great food, great service and a great atmosphere. Thank you Gigis.
Amazing lunch menu, the $12.90 lunch menu is incredible value! Can’t wait to go back and try the rest!! Service was 10/10 🙂
