In Wollongong for a conference and had breakfast here for the three days of the conference. Excellent coffee, good breakfast, both in choice of dishes and quality. One review mentions a roof bar, I certainly didn’t notice one, ask my experiences were at street level. YMMV!
I found Humber to be a nice little rooftop bar to enjoy in the Gong. The place has a spacious feel,, and they have a great offering food-wise on the tapas bar menu. Chipotle prawns were tasty and the felafels on the felafel plate were seriously divine. I was disappointed we missed out on the pickles that were supposed to come with. Still enjoyed a beautiful carrot ‘dip’ and slaw. The rooftop bar has very much a relaxed, bar feel, really only suitable for pre-drinks in my mind. If you’re interested in a more serious party move on elsewhere. I feel my cocktails were under-poured but the vibe is good. crumbs-au.com
Terrible coffee. I’ve been to Humber a few times since it’s opened and never had a decent coffee. I visited last week and grabbed a takeaway (was running late and that was the closest) and the old guy running the coffee machine on the first level kept doing other things like placing menus on tables rather than serving me. After 5 minutes I was served and after 10 mins I had my two takeaways. One found a new home in the bin after one sip (my wife’s skim cap) and I managed to get mine down. Poor service and burnt, over textured coffee and they’re not doing White Horse Coffee any favours. Also I never get latte art- which is the local standard.
A trendy little cafe in the center of town with a familiar yet welcomed menu. The humburger was juicy, but probably didn’t need the extra patty (my bad). The Thai-style grilled chicken salad was light, fresh, and had all the right flavours. It’s a shame we didn’t do coffee, we’d heard good things. The service is also worth a mention; very hospitable.
Three levels. The first floor definitely has a cafe feel and the second and third floors had more of a bar feel. Really cool setup. Would love to have a drink up on the roof top. However we dropped by only for a quick bite. Unfortunately the food wasn’t great. The pastas were overcooked. Didn’t have high expectations, but it was prob a little worse than I was expecting. The salad and the burger was ok.
A cool little space for a drink and a bite to eat, loved the fact that it has a rooftop bar, so nice in the warm weather! Some great cocktails served as well! Had the Grilled chicken and coleslaw petit pain, veal and pork meatballs and Pumpkin, ricotta and sage arancini.. The arancini were my fave yum!! fortheloveoftravelandfoodblog.wordpress.com
The hero fries are so good! French fries sprinkled with spices. The chicken burger was tasty the soft bun complimented the juicy chicken and oozing cheese.
