Hands down the best Indian restaurant in Wollongong. Mango Tree was our top choice whenever someone’s parents were in town visiting from abroad. Because clearly, nothing beats a nice fine dine Indian meal to please the traditionalists. –A drop of ink may make a million think. @AyaashPaw pawanmanghnani.com
This place is the worst. Give a glance into the kitchen &Never try the fried rice.Long story Short: contaminated diiiisssssshhhhhheeeeesssss
A really pleasant find with a nice view. Chose a variety of vegetarian dishes including Dal Tadka, Aloo Baigan, Malai Kofta and Paneer Chilli plus Rice and Naan.Good flavours without being over the top. Generous portions and excellent prices (cheaper than breakfast the next day).Service was pleasant, polite and welcoming. The Paneer Chile with goats cheese was something quite different…almost like an Italian sauce meets sweet and sour (without the sour) with an overall Indian influence. I quite enjoyed it. Recommend trying it when in the ‘gong.
What a shameThis restaurant was great when it first opened the food was amazing right across their menu. I had tried many dishes and never was disappointed. Then things changed, we ordered once via their online ordering system, an hour and a half into the wait for our food we decided we should call to find out what was going on, we were advised that they had received our order a full 40 mins after we had placed it suffice to say we were not happy so another 40 mins after that ordeal our food arrives and was well below par no apologies or offers to make up for the inconvenience what so ever we chalked it up to a once off and thought nothing of it. We continued to get food via pick up and thats when we started to notice the decline in quality the butter chicken stopped being the beautiful red colour it once had been and has taken on a some what dark almost brown colour and is about 4 times the heat it was originally and frankly is nothing like it once was.Last night we ordered again online as we were not feeling well and didnt want to venture out thinking by now several months later they would have their onlie ordering in order. We placed the order as we always do 1 butter chicken and 4garlic naan bread, just to be safe we called straight after placing the order to confirm it had been received and we were given an hour time frame for the food to be delivered which is a bit much but we took it so 1 hour and 20 mins into our wait we called the store and at first they had no idea about our order then found it and said it had already left the store another 15 mins and our door bell rang and we collected our order. Much to our dismay the butter chicken was almost brown and the naan was basically wet due to the condensation built up in the bag clearly from being in the car for a long long time before making it to our door. Safe to say we are now striking this place off our list and will not be back. Sad day considering this was once at the top of our list of places to go.
Better than we’d thought!. We don’t go for Indian much and have rarely been a big fan of it but we really enjoyed a double date dinner here. It was not very full. But the atmosphere is great, bright & comfy furnishings and great view of the north gong beach. The food was plenty! Entrees were yummy. We had the dumplings and the lamb/chicken things. More than enough and no complaints around the table, happy with the portions, taste and pricing of the meals. The waiters were professional and kind, and helpful with the menu. Great recommend!
First of all, we arrived at the restaurant about 5-10 minutes late for our booking, yet our table wasn’t ready. We were told to wait 5 minutes, which we did, only to be rushed to our table (which hadn’t even been set yet). It was hurriedly set while we were sitting down- not what you’d expect after making a reservation. It took a very long time to receive our meals, around 45 minutes after ordering. This included our server telling us that our food would be out in 15 minutes (our entrees arrived in about that time) and our mains came out about an hour after ordering. The food was incredibly average considering the size of the meals and the fact that they were very overpriced for what we got. We had to ask for our water to be refilled, for our wine to be brought over from the fridge and for our bill after we’d sat with our finished meals for about ten minutes (mind you, finished meal refers to the fact that we had finished eating, not that we’d eaten the whole dish). Overall, the food was average at best and the service was absolutely terrible. I had already made the decision to never return after about twenty minutes of arriving.Never again.
Lubbly Jubbly!!!!!!!. Have been several times and feel a bit of a traitor to my previously favourite Indian restaurant but this is the BEST INDIAN in Wollongong. The food is varied , original and good size portions. The Salmon in vine leaves is a master stroke..
