I really enjoyed the food here, dumplings were yummy and so were the salt and pepper prawns! It’s a bit on the pricier side compared to your normal dumpling places, but if you are looking for modern Asian food and something a bit different in the Gong then this a great place to try! fortheloveoftravelandfoodblog.wordpress.com

We were met by friendly attentive wait staff who took us to our seat and promptly provided water and a warming smile. We ordered a serve of Xiu Long Bao (soup dumplings), steamed BBQ Pork buns, and a Duck leg to share. The Xiu Long Bao pastry was overly thick, dry (very little soup inside) and plain to taste also there was an absence of appropriate condiments. Over priced for 3 small dumplings. The BBQ pork buns were small and below average, I’ve bought better ones frozen from a Chinese grocer. Again over priced. We were hoping that when the duck leg arrived that our dining experience would improve… Unfortunately it didn’t. The initial flavor was of chlorinated water. The duck skin was nice and crispy. Also if you want rice or noodle to accompany your main, you will be charged a minimum of $12 extra…Over all we were highly disappointed and wouldn’t recommend. We walked next door and had a much nicer meal.

We enjoyed dumplings at the bar and a good bottle of wine. Try the duck dumplings as they were a special treat. Good value and friendly service in a modern setting.

We had lunch here and ordered quite a few items from the menu, most items were of a high standard/quality, the wait staff were great happy, helpful and attentive. We did not like the Morton bay bug dumplings, they were very disappointing had no flavour, the filling tasted very bland almost watery and the pastry was floury. We did mention this, but nothing was done about it. I would definitely go back, just not happy how they handled criticism
