Cafe Nino has the Best pasta! The waiters were very helpful and recommended great dishes since it was our first time here. We’re planning on coming back next week =)
I was not impressed with this restaurant. For a start we were told all the meat was off due to a delivery issue. Ok we can cope with that… I was feeling like pizza but no pizza on the menu. Ok fair enough. Ordered octopus for entree which sadly had very little flavour and no love in the presentation. All hopes pinned on the mains…. I chose the entree of garlic prawns so I would be able to fit in dessert as well. Sadly my wee bowl of prawns came out in a soup of liquid butter and chopped garlic. One positive is the prawns were not overcooked. My sister had a delightful pasta with creamy sauce which she’s really enjoyed but my mums soft shell crab spaghetti was quite, quite bad. You could not taste the crab at all as it was smothered in a nasty tasting tomato sauce. Mum did not even bother finishing it and even went as far as telling the waitress it was unenjoyable. I was also disappointed that this Italian restaurant does not even make all their own pasta fresh. To end the evening I had the tiramisu which was also disappointing. One sponge layer with a mountain of mascarpone does not a tiramisu make. I will not be back, especially when there are other restaurants just up the road.
Unfortunately I will not be going back to Cafe Nio, although I was not expecting fine dining this was not an enjoyable experience. The meals are traditional Italian but nothing you couldn’t do at home on top of this they are completely overpriced! It was difficult to get the waiters attention to ask questions and order.I would not recommend Cafe Nio
We haven’t even got to main course yet and we already know that we’re never coming back. This place is an absolute joke. There is nothing authentically Italian about it (my husband is Italian and knows his food). There’s just overpriced, undersized meals with way too much cream and garlic, and dismissive service. Not good enough.
Best Italian in Sydney. Muscles are phenomenal, seafod soup, chilli prawns, fettucini ala pia (lobster) mmmm i’m getting hungry
