Id really like to speak about the food at the Lord Dudley, but after sitting at the table for 20 minutes at lunchtime on a Wednesday the only thing I saw was a menu. No waiting staff, no service, no recognition that I was even there by the staff members who walked past the table repeatedly. This was after Id sat on my own in the bar for around 5 minutes nursing an empty glass. The Dudley sells itself as a favourite for locals. It seems if you arent one youre treated like youre invisible or have body odour.
Pleasantly surprised by this old little pub. I’ve walked past a few times and due to the crowds of people hanging about the entrance while smoking, I never felt compelled to go inside. However tonight I had dinner with my family & we were impressed. My dad and fianc had the hearty burge with a side of hot & salty maccas-type fries; I opted for the home-style chicken pie which was to die for! The staff were friendly but seem preoccupied with their own conversation, but are forgiven as the food did arrive quickly. We will be back.
Mother best cloudy apple cider craft beer I’ve tasted but delightful olde English pub. Em quaint wooden decor and bar counter throughout. Surprisingly one of the few pubs that serve snakebites still. more like a local than a tourist spot. I like! thejaxblog.com
This pub has character and an old world charm that I find most enticing on those cold winters days. Set up like an English pub – there is a cozy front bar where people can keep warm and in front of the fire and with a drink of choice. The back area is a seated restaurant that serves traditional pub food. This place always seems busy and is worth a visit. Limited space and its popularity means that it can feel crowded. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
It’s probably one of the most English pubs in Sydney in my opinion. They even serve pickled eggs at the bar! Food is definitely on the pricey side, over $25 for standard pub grub like burger. The pie we ordered didn’t even come with any sides or gravy, just a sad pie by itself . it must be Paddington surcharge. Over the years we visited on numerous occasions, either enroute a pub crawl, a quick beer after Sunday walking nearby, or family lunch. We loved the atmosphere and kept coming back despite the overpriced food. thernbdiary.com
Cosy and reliable! Love this English pub. You actually feel like you’re in London. We went for the $15 steak night which was pretty decent. Comes with a stack of fries and garlic butter (don’t mind my picture – I opted for the healthy version!). My vego mate got the beetroot salad which was beautifully presented. Good range of beers and friendly staff. We did order a stick date for dessert which seemed to go missing and consequently took about 40mins to arrive. Other than that though, a perfect night!
This place is dangerously awesome – situated 100m from my apartment, the famous Lord Dudley has such a great atmosphere. Stone and wood + pork crackling – my favourite!
