My review of the Frisco is a little limited since it was a works function, with a pre-set package. We had the second floor of the Frisco Hotel booked, on a Friday afternoon. It was a drinks package with canapes.I really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor of the upstairs section, lovely dark wood floors, tables, while fake, the hanging flowers on the balcony really gave it more of a fresh touch, and an air of being more like in Europe. Can’t really say much about the drinks, it was beer on tap, but served for most part with a smile (two servers behind the bar being swamped by 100 people), and the food was pretty good.We had chicken wraps (mexican style), little cups of fish and chips, and meatball sliders. They tasted fresh, were hot from the small kitchen at the back of the second floor, and weren’t over/under seasoned, nor greasy (for the fish and chips).Overall I would say friendly staff, great atmosphere, especially on the balcony looking out over the streets, and at least the canapes we had were well done.
Recently under new ownership and refurbished. Had a pleasant meal with some old friends. Meals were well presented by celebrity Chef David Park. Menu is tight which allows the quality to really come out. Beers on tap are plentiful. Won’t take long for the younger Navy to patron this fine hotel as before. Chef came out to say hello and provided a complimentary dish to account for one of the deserts not being available. Great night at a great pub.
The frisco hotel has just relaunched and it’s a fabulous spot for a drink – especially on the upstairs balcony. A nautical theme with blues and white the decor flows from room to room throughout the hotel. The only downside to the balcony is that it’s a smoking area, however, still a very popular spot. On level two there is the perfect date spot with little tables decked with flowers and candles. They were serving canaps which hopefully are a taste of their regular menu as they were scrumptious. Friday nights are $10 espresso martinis – the perfect way to end the week.
Newly revamped Frisco Hotel is a great spot for dinner or drinks with friends. We went for an opening party and it is a great spot for such an event. Downstairs is a huge bar, plenty of bench tables, gaming area and also space to sit outside. There was a band playing downstairs which made for a great atmosphere. Upstairs there are smaller tables, a balcony area as well as a private dining area. The decor has a nautical theme, blues, whites and nautical themed equipment. Trendy and fun bar staff in cool outfits, they were all very hospitable. I had a cocktail, blueberry flavoured champagne, beers and some spirits. For food, we tried a variety of canaps which were all extremely tasty -popcorn prawns, chicken tenders, some awesome green / kale inspired calamari, gyoza (my favourite), and grilled prawns. The food was great! aroundtheclockfoodie.com
Rustic restaurant in Potts Point. The bar is downstairs and the restaurant on the first floor. The food is reasonable and well priced. Take a look at the daily specials, they are value for money.Good for random weeknight dinner.
All rounder. Great food, cheap (for Wooloomooloo anyway), friendly service. Best for lunch.
Came down to thus old style English Pub to watch the footy on a rainy Friday Sydney night . First thing I felt attracted to was the best Ales and English beers at. The front, followed by the $15 daily special that includes a huge plate of Hungarian Goulash and a scooner of beer. There are daily specials for $10 and large pizzas for $16 and hey you can’t go wrong with the $15 Sunday roast served with a complimentary house beer or wine. This is a rare find aussie pub in the heart of theore up-scale part of Woolloomooloo.
