Good-quality Mexican restaurant that is always bustling with customers. Food is tasty and portion sizes very generous, and service is also quite good. Can get quite loud when it’s full, but the take-away option is great for those looking at having Mexican for a night in!
I have I haven’t been for awhile but this was always a great place with friendly staff, good size meals and reasonably priced the chilli con carn was a favourite with tender beef. Have been about 12 times over the years and the most recent was a year ago and the food still tasty, noisy but enjoyable atmosphere. Will continue to be a fond place, had my first date with my now husband here some 18 years ago.
Loved Prickles! Their ribs were always good, and enchiladas were amazing!. Been here more than 10 times, and have never been disappointed. Food was heavenly. I love spicy and hot chilies, so was very happy when they did make my enchiladas extra spicy! Service was great too.
I was surprised to read the other reviews about prickles so maybe it’s gone downhill since I last ate here. My experiences have always been good. Great customer service and friendly staff.Food portions are huge so go hungry. I also love a shot of the XO patron cafe black tequila to finish off my meal.
I couldn’t see any main meals for less than $20. I didn’t see that as a problem. What was an issue was not telling our table there would be an hour wait (for a table of 7). During that hour no drinks were offered either.When the Fajita’s arrived we were all disappointed due to the lack of flavour. We all agreed we could have made a better meal from a packet bought from Coles.Do not bother.
Since it is the only Mexican spot in Darwin, it might just satisfy your Mexican craving. But compared to any other yardstick you’ll find the food does not measure up.
