Tried this place (for takeaway lunch) because it wins the best fish and chips of our local radio station mix fm 92.7 every year and some people rave about it. Â Dunno what’s so amazing about it.POSITIVES; Â nice seating outside under Leopard trees (on hot day was still pleasant) and would be nice at night with kids safely running around (not too many cars really as in the middle of suburbia at the very back of Moooloolaba). Â Easy parking. Â Bottle shop in same complex. Â Good for locals who don’t want to fight the tourist crowd along the esplanade and spit. Â Chips nice (chicken salt) and extra cooked. Â Had other stuff i.e. hamburgers. Â Provided plates and cups etc near counter also. Â Takeaway/eat in available.NEGATIVES; Â not a great range of fish. Â Fish didn’t look at all appetising prior to cooking. Â Fish nicely crumbed but stinky tasting with the silver skin still on (Cod) and it was not pleasant. Â Wouldn’t be a great place to eat in bad or inclement weather. Â Went there solely for the fish and was not really that impressed – have had worse but have had way better. Â It was in the oddest spot in the middle of suburbia – not really a draw card for me to be honest. Â They were really slow to cook meal, they seemed to only be able to handle one meal, in order, at a time (I don’t know how they fair when it’s busy). Â I wouldn’t return based on the food alone, maybe if it was convenient, but it was nothing amazing. Â I assume they win the best voted place each year as some friends keep on voting for them or something. Â The spit Mooloolaba is way nicer and so is the Caloundra Seafood Market. Â I tried it – was not fussed.
Have takeaway fish and chips from here for lunch yesterday following recommendations. Very happy with the product. Crunchy hot delicious well cooked fish. Potato cakes (called potato scallops here in Qld) were yummy. Recommended.

Not impressed!!. Fish was overcooked, sweet potatoes undercooked and inedible. My friend and I only realized this once we were already home, we were not even offered a replacement when I called them to advise them of this. Will not be recommending them or ever going back.
