We moved to here from Japan last Monday. Nagoya was the first local restaurant we went. Unfortunately we were deeply disappointed.They are not Japanese, all Chinese. Owner, chef and waitress. The taste is totally Chinese!I feel bad for local people. The only Japanese place, no choice but you guys would have had chances to enjoy REAL Japanese dishes.We are going to explore more Japanese restaurants.
We eat here on regular basis. Good quality food without the normal high price that a lot of Japanese restaurants have. My favourite is the vegetable Japanese pizza. Only $7.90, very filling and very tasty. It is not fine dining, just basic and simple food done well.
The best Authentic Japanese restaurant i’ve encountered thus far!!!. After travelling over to Japan, coming home was quite disappointing. The food was divine, and Nagoya is the closest thing you will get to eating in Japan. The food is always amazing, we have dined there over 10 occasions since 2012. My children request this restaurant for their birthday meals out (they are 5 & 6), and we are never disappointing. The Takoyaki (octopus balls) and okonomiyaki (osaka pizza) are our go to meals as they are favourites. Apart from the wasabi and spicy options I would say we’ve sampled the entire menu. It is exactly as it would be in Japan, the staff and the food are just beautiful! We can’t even break the 3 digit mark on our bill, we’ve tried! Japanese food always makes you feel so wonderful and healthy as well, so this restaurant is 10 times better than any chain you will find.I can see how fellow reviewers might feel disappointing as authentic Japanese food isn’t like the stuff usually served in Australia. It’s like comparing Sitar Indian with an Authentic Indian restaurant. The flavours are going to be different as they are modified for westerners. So my point would be, give this a go. It might not be for you, and that is ok, but if you look over this hidden gem because of a fellow reviewer I think you are making a big mistake!(As I write this I am eagerly awaiting to head out for yet another meal at this gorgeous restaurant!)

The food here has a simplicity that is common with Japanese fare. Unfortunately there is no sushi and my son didn’t like his udon noodle soup which was rather plain except for a strong pepper taste. The tempura was oilier and heavier than it should have been (not the best). However, my sashimi salad was fantastic as a light meal. Apparently the fish curry was also good. Great service but our waiter had limited English language skills so wasn’t able to answer questions. Food came in good time and all at once (always a bonus).

We were disappointed. The salmon sashimi was ok but still slightly frozen. The gyoza was nice. My main meal salt and pepper prawns grilled was not worth eating – prawns were limp, not fresh with a sauce which was not great. The teriyaki chicken was quite nice though. Service and decor were good bit the food wasn’t consistently good, Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant .
