The look from the outside is great, however, the food is very ordinary, expensive and nothing to make me ever want to go back unfortunately. Disappointing as it is closer than Sunnybank, but I would be happy to drive the extra distance for better quality and tasting Vietnamese food.

I have had Red Lotus bookmarked for soOo long but we have never managed to get ourselves a booking… until now!! Finally!!! I have not tried a lot of vegan asian food and I don’t believe I’ve ever had Vietnamese before, so I was excited to try it!!There is a whole range of vegan options on the menu and I of course had to try the vegan pho (I got the special one with tofu and soy meat). I also got stir fried greens with tofu. I can’t believe how crazy the pho was. I thought I was eating meat (don’t know how to feel about that haha!!). The broth was super warm, salty and flavourful. My only issue was that the bowl was so big, I only managed to get through a quarter 🙁 Other than, it was amazing!! I also had the vegan spring rolls which were really good too. Overall, this is a great restaurant for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters and everyone will find something on the menu. It’s also super good to get some warm pho in Winter!!!

The food was quite good. Particularly the prawns and the duck. The entrees not so much with the quail being a little dry and the Vietnamese fishcakes not much to my liking. The service was efficient without being particularly friendly. The ambience was ok but we were unfortunate to be situated at the last table next to the toilets which are not particularly well screened meaning we had to keep asking other patrons to close the door. I’d rate it 3 and half stars.

We went on Friday night and both of us just ended up having the standard pho. The bowls were large with plentiful servings. Having had plenty of pho in Inala in places in Tan Thanh, I can’t say the one Red Lotus would match up to that standard, but it was good nonetheless. The beef was a little chewy for my liking, but the broth and noodles were nice. I also think they could have been a little more generous on the beansprouts.I also had the panan crem brule. I would say that the sugar at the top was a little too soft and not as crunchy as you would expect when you first tap your spoon into it. The rest of the dessert was quite flavoursome though. It was small, which was the perfect size for me to finish off after a large pho dinner. The atmosphere and decor was nice and very clean. I also quite enjoyed reading the commentary as I perused the menu they gave us.

Food is consistently good; almost as good as Darra/Inala if pricier/more inventive menu. My children particularly love it. Downside is its popularity, leading to problems sometimes findinga table inside (its a narrow footpath outside on an unloveable corner). I’d avoid takeaway, the wait times can be long but most of all polystyrene and bags sap all the crisp energy from Vietnamese cuisine.

Very disappointed in our TAKE AWAY Tonight . We ordered Chicken curry with rice tonight. Whilst it was tasty there were only 15 pieces of small chicken, huge amount of rice and small amount of broth with potatoe.. $15 for that is disgraceful and was not even enough for 1 meal!!! Have had other meals there before in restaurant abd take away and they were good so we revisited. [email protected] also not good enough.

I’ve been here a couple of times and have tried most of the items on the menu and this is as good as it gets for Vietnamese food. I love the beef noodle soup (pho) but I made the mistake of ordering the large size and I have to say ‘my eyes were bigger than my stomach’. I really like the decoration with the red lotus flowers for lighting. This is definitely the place I go to when I crave Vietnamese food. And I have to mention, I love the lychee cider!
