I think most Thai restaurants in Brisbane are way overpriced, it is like some Thai restaurant cartel. I am yet to find that amazing Thai place, I hoped this was it, it was not.We shared a beef massuman, which was too sweet, the beef in it was not the nice chunks you would expect but were instead thin stir fry pieces that were mostly overcooked and chewy. We also had the pork with chilli and basil. The pork was overcooked again, it also seemed to have been cooked separately from the veg as a lot of it was not coated in sauce and was dry. The veggies in the sauce were lovely. I would have preferred this one as veggies in sauce only.We also added steamed rice, of course.Looking at the bill the rice was almost $8, it was $7.60 for some plain cooked white rice. I did see on the menu it was $3.80 but falsely assumed this would be for the table or for two. Nearly $8 for rice that we didn’t finish and they probably reuse is not cool. I think SE Asian food places should take a leaf from the Indian places and give you free plain rice when ordering mains. We also waited a good 5-7 minutes to pay for the bill, despite ringing the bell twice. However, I did like that there was a bathroom in the restaurant.
Yum!! The food was excellent the past two times we’ve gone! Fresh tasting, authentic tasting and large serves. Will definitely continue to come back.
Good Thai. I’ve been meaning to try it for years as it’s on my drive home. Golden bags were tasty, we had a good Chicken Basil Chilli Stir Fry and the Massaman Curry was bathed in a rich sauce. I prefer a slow-cooked Massaman and the beef here was sliced and lightly fried but it wasn’t overly chewy. We will be back. Recommended.
If I could give zero out of five, I will. This is a no show restaurant. Went there on a quite Friday night (29/01/2016) with my daughter. Took 10 minutes for the waiter to even give us the menu; waited another 15 minutes before we could catch her attention to come and take our orders, during which we were told it will take ~20 minutes to get served with our order. Thirty minutes after we placed our order, still no show of food. Had to eventually leave the restaurant after 40 minutes of ordering the with no feed; Overall, at least 1 hour of bad dinning experience. Made my disappointment known to the waiter, who had a non-challant attitude about it; all she could say is sorry. I will definitely not be making a revisit to the restaurant. Maybe they should stick to take-aways which they seemed pre-occupied with.
A quality thai place in the heart of Annerley. The entree’s are great, especially the curry puffs and the salt and pepper squid & the thai green curry are the main highlights.
I’m disappointed that I’m so disappointed. The girl on the phone was a bit rude and didn’t explain the vegetarian curries to me, just repeated their names. She was nice in store though. When I got home the spring rolls had no sauce. The curry was really watery and had no tofu which one would expect from a vegetarian curry. I wish I just got Indian. I won’t be back which is unfortunate because I’d been there a few times over the years and it’s always been fine.
Love this Thai place, only place we go to for it!Chicken Massaman is delicious along with some coconut riceThe ladies that work there are always so lovely,Prices are reasonable, but sometimes you get a little bit of a wait.
