I had like lunch at Vanilla Pod. I didn’t want a big meal so decided on the beetroot, goats cheese and pecan tart with salad. It was just over $20. It was really expensive for a small cafe with counter service. Both the tart and the coffee that followed tasted good but it is definitely an occasional lunch at these prices.
I love vanilla pod. They’ve got some fantastic milkshakes and smoothies and great coffee too. They’ve got some fantastic little packaged foods at the back too which make for perfect gifts- we alway grab some to make a hamper for any gifts we do. The cakes and savouries are brilliant. We are in love with their little cupcakes. So fluffy and good icing. We often get cakes made for events too which are some of the best we’ve ever had. You certainly do pay, but given the product and the location, it’s worth it. Would recommend any day of the week. Fantastic service also.
Definitely one of my favourite cupcakeries in Brisbane. However agree with some reviewers that it definitely is not one where you get the most bang out of your buck!
Website claims to have the best cupcakes and coffee in Brisbane so I went out of my way to try them. Unfortunately I beg to differ. The coffee is reasonably priced but I have had much better. The cupcakes are ridiculously priced at $6.90 for one cupcake or $3.90 for bite-sized and they are nothing special. Quite the disappointment.
I’ve been here a handful of times over the past few years and simply put, it’s over rated. $7.50 for a gf cupcake, even though it’s gf is a bit steep. Owners are nice but staff can be hit can miss. Parking is a nightmare.
Diana. We had a small basic breakfast here. The coffee was quite good, put it this way one could definitely taste the coffee& it was pretty smooth & creamy. Our breakfast was just a toastie & I had the avo with dukkah & feta, basic yes, but flavor was all there,. They have a good array of cakes & sweets inside we sat outside with the pooch in the sun
Meh – Overpriced, underwhelming. With so many hot spots popping up in Brisbane – try somewhere else! Overpriced, underwhelming. $6.50 for a bland cupcake!. Pop down to Dandelion and Driftwood down the road, you won’t be disappointed, better service, better food, better price.
