Chicken and mushroom pies are so hard to find these days so I come here from time to time-they have leek and are really good, I’ve only ever had takeaway. $8.50-9 is a little steep for a cold takeaway pie but when I crave one I guess I’ll pay anything. They are really good. I wish I knew who the supplier was. New owners are pretty good except for the one that argued with me over the flavour of the pie. I haven’t eaten cow in over 20 years so was a bit miffed when I was given a cow pie and didn’t realise till I got home, heated it and eaten a bite that I realised it wasn’t chicken. What was more annoying was the owner arguing with me over the phone and telling me it was in fact chicken, righto. As I live right around the corner I took it back straight away, the owner I spoke attempted to blame it on one of her workers and ran out the back. I wasn’t having any of that and felt sorry for them, I bet that happens a lot. Who blames an employee for their mistake, particularly when they were so rude about it. I haven’t seen her work for a while, the other younger staff are great though and make a good coffee. They also know why I’m vigilant when they serve my pie.

Revisited after a long while. Seems to have changed owners or management as all the staff were new and likewise for the menu. Counter staff were friendly and quick to take orders. $13-14 for poached eggs where the price wasn’t on the blackboard menu. Took 15-20mins to arrive, there was one other table of two occupied who ordered first. Coffee was overdrawn and somewhat bitter. Food was tasty and the eggs were poached perfectly. Still in the league of Sydney prices for inner suburban Brisbane. Bravo for the waitress who flawlessly delivered a very full flat white without spilling a drop.

Good coffee and dessert. The sandwiches are a little average though. Friendly staff makes up for it.

Great food, great service. They do lunch take aways, catering and dine in. Busy little cafe, they somehow are able to provide endless options. A must try, particularly the gourmet salads and rissoles.
