Apparently it was under a new management according to the waiter at cash register…menu was different from the ones at Zumato. It was busy at lunch & slightly understaffed as some tables, patrons were looking for menus. Overall first impression wasnt that good. However, pleasantly was I surprised with the quality of the food….kids’ nuggets were battered real breast meat, great burger, great fish & chips. Highly recommend the fluffy & moist mixed berry muffin. I hope they will spruce up the ambience and decor…perhaps a little bit better than a canteen look to match with the beautiful Botanical Garden.
Went for lunch and had a lovely US caramelized steak with paned fried onion, mushroom and capisum on a open roll with a side order of fries. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors and quality. Yes the servive is at the bar and a tad slow but the view over the park pond is worth the wait. Wife enjoyed her chicken burger.
Beautiful place, absolutely wonderful view. The line to order took forever although I suspect the cashier was new but otherwise great place.
Terrible customer service and terrible food. We had a booking and couldn’t find anyone to tell us where to sit. One lady walked past us standing at the door twice and still wouldn’t acknowledge us. I had to chase her around the restaurant to ask her where our reserved table was. The lady pointed to a table with a lot of attitude. So we sat down. We then had to get up to get our own menus. We ordered food at the counter, where the man at the counter wasn’t familiar with the menu and made ordering very difficult. We had a breakfast and I got the potato corgettes. It tasted like something that had been heated up in a microwave with a heap of rocket thrown on top to mask the unappetising food. I couldn’t even get half way through my meal. For a restaurant that has such a beautiful backdrop of the botanical gardens, I couldnt believe how terrible the customer service and food was. A McDonald’s brekkie would have been cooked better.
Food quality is really high and although a small menu, it is well priced and has reasonable variety. With great views from the large deck over the lagoon it is a lovely spot for breakfast or lunch. The minor downsides are no table service so you must line up to order. It can get very busy and the line very long. Also the tables are getting tired and need renewing, or at the least need tablecloths on them to hide the stains and tears.
Disappointed in a function we had there on the deck. Lack of staff on for the day we had to wait until most of our guest had left before our cake was cut and served. We were also promised staff to hang decorations which was not provided and we had to climb onto chair and do it ourselves. Whs issues!!!
We had the Field of Dreams and Botanic Breakfast, it was very average. Bacon was overcooked, hash brown was over cooked, scrambled egg was not cooked well at all. For this kind of price, try cornerstone cafe nearby or Bitter Suite in teneriffe. Also have to order at the counter and not table serviced……
