I went here for my 18th birthday with the parents. It was recommended to me by a friend. We ordered the 5 course tasting menu for all three of us and my mum took the vegetarian option. The food was very good, although for the price I felt it could have been better (it cost approximately $130pp). The dishes were all very well presented and came steaming hot (or cold depending on the dish) and they were served over the course of a few hours (what you would expect from a french dining experience). The service was exemplary, the waiters were all very kind and thoughtful as well as courteous. Absolutely no problem with the service. I’ve heard that they treat ‘middle class’ people not as well as those who look more wealthy but I can say from experience that it simply isnt true. The ambiance was good. Unfortunately we were seated in the middle of the restaurant rather than closer to the edge, where the view is absolutely stunning. However, we also booked late so it was expected.Overall, it was very good but also very pricey. It was an amazing experience to try my first fine dining, 5 course meal but I probably wont be going there again because of the high prices.

This place is duck heaven! All I need is any of their duck dishes and their crepe suzette and I’ll be happy for a while. The only criticism I have is that their service needs to be improved and the owner needs to really take a look at that. Not all diners are treated equally here.

For a bill over $100 and we were nice enough to include a tip, this was really disappointing. It was obviously Coles brand chips that they used with the steak. I couldve made my salmon exactly the same at home. My partners steak was so chewy our whole table shook as he tried to cut it. Very very average food. The service was appalling, had our water pretty much slammed into our glasses, spilling all over our table. When our meals arrived the comment we got was, move your napkins! Then our plates were slammed down and then she stormed away. It is obvious everyone there hates their job and only does it out of obligation. It is also obvious that they treat the obviously richer people with more respect than middle class. Never coming back, ever.

Well the view is rather special – overall the interior is a little boring but comfortable and presents well – seating is appropriate. The wine selection is excellent and what you would expect from a French fine dining restaurant. The service was friendly, and efficient – the head waiter was, in his own quirky way, enjoyable – but lacks finish – its the little things, like glugging an expensive bottle of wine into and over filling the glass – when wine is ordered by the glass it should be filled at the table …. the little things! Overall the food was average – while the menu reflects much promise, the flavour and quality was not there – the snails lacked butter, the rabbit was dry, the steak for the price was average, the crepes were not freshly cooked…… – just not up there.

My gf took me here for dinner on my birthday along with my other three friends and we had a very disappointing experience. First of all, very rude staff. We took a couple of minutes deciding what we all wanted for dinner, the waiter said hell be back in 5 minutes to take our order, 15 minutes later he still wasnt back, I called another waiter to our table to take our order and he said so what do u guys want be quick. His attitude was very inappropriate and rude. I ordered the Sirloin for my main, the steak was tough and chewy. For the price theyre asking Id expect much better quality. Later on as soon as we all finished our mains, the waiters came along to clear the table and without asking my gf they brought out my birthday cake unexpectedly and lit the candle. So after everyone had a slice of cake we received the bill straight away, the whole evening we felt like we were being rushed. I couldnt even believe after we sorted the bill the waiter added u can tip the kitchen if u want u know. Overrated restaurant with impolite staff.

the signature crab lasagna which we sampled (that I was mostly looking forward to) from the tasting menu was bit of a let down. mightve been undercooked as I could only taste flour which was a shame because the bisque that accompanied it was absolutelyyyyy scrumptious; delicate but yet so full of flavour!! appetisers were alright and the duck a lorange was dry; but it was the souffl of the day made my night!! lovely selection of wine and lovely staff, may come back to sample the canard la presse in the future *note to place order >24 hours before*
