A very busy and lively store. This is a bit far from Brisbane but you will not regret eating here. Everything on the menu is very good and the staff will help you out on just about anything. The only con is the lack of parking and the waiting time due to the popularity!

Summary: With ramen from $10, and most ramen sides at $1, Kabachi-Ya is a place you can call your ramen joint, or regular meeting place, or home.Context: Arrived at 2:15pm – I seem to have a habit of visiting ramen joints at odd hours.Vibe: Laid-back atmosphere. Even near lunch closing time (2:30pm) on a Tuesday, there were 3-4 people finishing their food or hanging around. This is more of a traditional restaurant setup, with all indoor seating (20-30 seats), table service, and other standard food items (rice dishes, udon, curries; not much sushi or sashimi though).Goods:I got the Kabachi Black (Tokotsu pork bone based broth + black garlic oil) with extra noodles ($1), and takana (pickled mustard leaves, $1). – The broth is rich, tasty, and of drinkable saltiness. – The pork pieces come cold, so dunking them is advised.Value:- Ramen dishes are quite cheap here, starting at $10.- The ramen was quite minimalistic, with only pork pieces and shallots. This isn’t much of an issue, as most extras (takana, soft boiled egg, bamboo shoots) are $1, and most venues with these sides included charge you a higher price anyway. – You get 2 charsiu pork pieces (around 8cmx4cm) with a basic ramen. This may not sound like much, but the pieces are thick-cut, of unequal thickness ranging from 3mm to 8mm – compared to the bubble-gum-like pieces you get in some joints, this is quite good (additional serves are $2 per 2 pieces)Note:- With most Brisbane and Gold Coast ramen joints, you pay first as you order, at the counter; whereas at Kabachi-Ya you order first with table service, and pay at the counter later. This lets you order extras like extra noodles (no free ones, $1 each) extremely conveniently (you don’t need to go to the counter and fumble for change every time you feel like a side) – be careful not to go overboard, like getting 8 serves of takana in one go.- The closing time (e.g. -2:30pm) means last orders are at 2:28pm(-ish) – they don’t kick you out at closing time sharp, they simply start shutting the kitchen if there’s no more orders – you’re welcome to enjoy yourself at your own pace (within reason)Verdict:I applaud Kabachi-Ya for building a well-fitted ramen system, with a cheap base ramen, cheap sides, and convenient table service and post-paid ordering. It’s affordable both to get your regular, basic ramen fix when feeling the call of nature, or build-you-own ramen monstrosity when feeling more adventurous. I’ll definitely be back.

Authentic Japanese Ramen shop. Highly recommended for traditional tasting Japanese noodles. And all the sides are great too. Including the simple curry.

Love this place, my fav is grilled pork belly rice and kanachi tonkotsu. Service is quick. Just come earlier or a bit later after pick hour if you don’t want to wait for tables as the place is not spacious.

Kabachi-ya is a decent Ramen/Japanese eatery if you’re in the area and need a quick bite. The ramen was tasty however all the ramen was cooked in a meat/pork broth which was annoying, especially for those who are or are eating with vegetarians and vegans then this could be a bit of an issue. Other than that, it was ok.
