Great calamari, but the battered fish, chips and potato scallops were very oily. Both my partner and I had stomach aches afterwards. The chips were cooked to the point that there was virtually no potato left inside, just an oily husk. Service was good and had a nice ambiance.
The worst seafood I have ever eaten. All items were crumbed and fried and tasted like they were cooked in animal fat. To the point of sludgy palate afterwards. The sea scallops were stuck together and almost raw. At $3 each. The prawns were overcooked and tough. The chips were limp and also tasted like had been cooked in lard. Nothing fresh about this meal. Even the lime was dry. At $45 for a platter for two, 4 sea scallops and two small drinks. Very disappointed. Giving a 1.0 as staff were helpful.
I love Savige’s grilled sampler. I love the salt and pepper calamari too. We did have fish from there once that had a big bone in it which put me off and I often pay for the salt & pepper calamari but get given plain, still nice but you pay extra for the S&P. However it’s my favourite fish and chips ever.
divine foodbrilliant servicewill definitely be backfresh seafoodhappycustomerslocals and guests always that
Beware! 4 adults had fish and chips for lunch. 1/2 an hour later we all felt like we had be hit by a truck. Lethargic then extending to sleeplessness to then lack of appetite to headaches and one person having a rash on stomach. Once doing a search flavor enhancers is typically a result – 631. A form of MSG.
This place was absolutely not worth my time or money. A combination of unfresh seafood, rediculous price, small portions, at nearly a 40 minute wait eliminates any possibility of me coming here again.
We go here whenever we have fish and chips at Bribie. Fish is always fresh and we love the calamari and crumbed prawns. Potato scallops are crunchy and chips are yummy. It’s add your own salt though so remember to add some before you sit.
