Remembering the marvellous food from theoriginal Bollywood we were looking forward to our meal, to say we were disappointed was an understatement. Neither of us are big eaters, however for the price, we found the portions to be quite small. In addition to the small curry portions, we were asked to pay extra for rice and/or naan.We love our curries but there was nothing special about the flavours and without direct confirmation we have no doubt that the vegetables in the curries were frozen.Service was adequate butwe are unlikely to return.
Bollywood Indian was delicious!! Tried the Dahl and was so please. A little bit pricey but delicious. As we got take away didn’t get the full dine in service experience. thebasicbalance.com
This is where you take your Special Guests !!. Every time we have guests we take them here, and every time they have said this is one of the best Indian Restaurants they have ever been too and I agree !! My Fave is and always will be the Butter Chicken with Cheese and Garlic Naan and the mixed entree !! #qualitycooks
Without a doubt, the worst meal EVER!!!. Ordered two goat curries, garlic naan and rice. First, the goat was not goat, it was old mutton- chewy, gristly and full of bones, yes bones! More bones than meat. The sauce was somewhat reminiscent of something extracted from a grease trap – in flavour and texture. The garlic naan was not naan, it was something heavy in flour that I have seen on a supermarket shelf but tasted like cardboard – toasted cardboard. I do not know what they did with the rice, but our dogs, who normally like rice, wouldn’t touch the stuff. Most of the meal went into the waste bin and I wondered what damage I might do the bin. We have eaten at Indian restaurants across the globe as well as in and about Brisbane. We have had mutton passed off as lamb (Carcassonne). Everywhere was edible, tasty and full of value – except for Bollywood. Hats off to you! We won’t be going back and will advise all and sundry that the place should be avoided by everyone except masochists. It wasn’t a cheap gastronomic insult either!!
Beautiful curries, friendly efficient service, not a long wait, we will be back!
Delicious as always!. Had takeaway again last night. As always it was divine. Am very surprised by the negative comments. Have eaten there for years, tried almost everything on the menu and NEVER had a dud meal. Always a generous amount of meat, always tasty. I am a curry nut and have eaten it all over the world and this restaurant is definitely up there with some of the best curries I have eaten.
Has gone downhill, used to be good value with great portion sizes and quality ingredients, now, the container size has decreased while prices has gone up and the curry is watered down and tasteless. Very disappointed. Expected more.
