We came initially for a drink, but the drinks took forever to arrive, they actually forgot about it twice, until we went to ask about it again. Pretty poor for a 5 stars hotel. By the time we got the drinks we wanted a snack as well, so got the Joel’s dessert platter to share. The menu description mentioned you’re to get a mix of 8 desserts, but when it turned up there were many more then 8 pieces on the board. Having been to the buffet at Thymes 2 of the hotel, I recognised the desserts were pretty much the ones from the buffet. Quality were ok, particularly liked the matcha blobs. Great value for $32.
This Sofitel bar is not inexpensive as you would expect but you do get treated well by the staff and the food is very good both across the bar and in other parts of the hotel. Late lunch was a steak sandwich and although I have foregone a monthly mortgage repayment it was the best steak sandwich I ever had. Odd place to find it but there you go.
